This role is a remote position available in a major metropolitan area.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality air permitting and compliance support to manufacturing companies across the United States.
Research and assess facility operations for regulatory applicability.
Prepare and review permit applications, emission calculations, regulatory reports, and additional compliance reports as required by permits and applicable regulations.
Supervise and mentor Air Quality Specialists on permitting activities and professional development.
Conduct on-site client visits to provide compliance support and regulatory training.
Communicate complex regulatory issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients.
Build and maintain client relationships focusing on U.S. Compliance’s Core Values.
Provide general consulting solutions related to all environmental areas including hazardous waste, stormwater, wastewater, SPCC, and Community-Right-to-Know.
Collaborate with other U.S. Compliance practitioners to meet environmental deadlines and projects.
Support the preparation of proposals.
Position Requirements:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, or related science discipline.
10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in air quality permitting and compliance programs.
10 years of relevant experience with manufacturing, consulting, or a regulatory agency.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead a team of air quality professionals
Experience in leading and mentoring a team of up-and-coming air quality professionals.
Experience with state and federal air quality regulations and specific knowledge of general air permitting process: NSR, Title V, PSD, NSPS, NESHAP, BACT, etc.
Air dispersion modeling experience with AERMOD is preferred.
Advanced working knowledge of Excel and an understanding of Microsoft Office 365: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Dynamics.
Experience with local, state, and federal regulatory authorities and other environmental regulatory programs including stormwater, wastewater, solid and hazardous waste management, and environmental due diligence.
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, project team members, and regulators.
Excellent time management skills to support multiple tasks on an ongoing basis with firm deadlines.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting as well as in a team environment with a diverse workload.
Strong attention to detail and completeness.
Flexible and willing to support diverse projects as needed.
Ability to travel to client sites for routine visits (approximately 20% of the time.
