The University of Iowa Community Clinics (UICC) is seeking a patient centered

Nurse Clinical Coordinator

to support our UI Community

North Dodge and Holiday Road Pediatric Clinics.

This position provides nursing leadership and oversight for primary and specialized patient care populations that are served within UI Community Clinics and Clinical Outreach. Functions as a clinical nurse expert for patients and UICC. The nurse will facilitate communications between medical staff, management, patients and/or family to provide excellent customer service. This position will serve as a liaison role to provide the dissemination of information and education to clinical care team.

Key areas of responsibility include:

Assists and acts a liaison with supporting new initiatives including new service lines, expanding clinics, adding new providers, etc.Collaborates with nursing, medical staff, and other health professionals in planning, delivering, and evaluating care for primary and specialty patient populations.Leads nursing personnel in providing specialized patient procedures and care management plansLeads or participates in evidence-based projects within specialty area and collaborate with the appropriate CPL or NPL staff member to implement practice changes.Provides specialized health education to patients and health profession studentsAdheres to internal and regulatory policies and guidelinesCreates clinic staffing schedule and represent clinic at daily staffing huddles; trouble staffing gaps and identify solutionsAssists with reviewing benefit request in time tracking systemParticipates in recruitment, developing, and managing performance of staffApplies expertise in communicating real time feedback and direction to clinical staffServes as a liaison between clinical staff, family members, and UICC leadershipApplies expertise in specialized field to improve nursing outcomes, leads and participates in evidence-based projects, and implements team-based careTroubleshooting and managing facility issues in real timeParticipates in Quality Improvement (QI) initiativesProvides direct patient care/nurse triage responsibilities as needed, floating to other clinics as neededDriver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety StandardsOther clinic duties as assignedDepartment Summary:

University of Iowa Community Clinics (UICC) provides comprehensive care to the Iowa City community and beyond. With 38 community clinics, including Quick Cares and Urgent Care, in the Muscatine, Riverside, and Iowa City corridor, UICC is home to providers and staff that provide comprehensive care outside of the hospital setting and give the community a sense of care whenever they need it most.

Percent of Time: 100%

Schedule:

40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, variable shifts between 8 - 10 hours with work hours between 7:45 AM - 7:00 PM with limited, rotating weekend coverage.

Location: Iowa City, IA (and surrounding cities)

Required Qualifications:

A Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is required1-3 years of nursing experience is requiredValid license to practice nursing in the state of IowaExcellent organization and time management skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office and InternetExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDriver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety StandardsDesired Qualifications:

1 to 3 years' experience in patient care, particularly those with ambulatory specialty, family med or pediatricsDemonstrated leadership and training skills (might include but not limited to: Charge Nurse or Lead Staff Nurse, etc.)Excellent interpersonal skills with patients, families, and health care workersProfessional nursing certification is desiredFamiliarity with UIHC ambulatory clinic workflows
