With offices all over the world, including Columbus, New York City and Houston, we offer a local touch with a global reach.We want to continue to grow and need people just like you!About the RoleThis role will be mainly based in Columbus, Ohio.We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Leader with expertise in Microsoft Purview to lead our data governance initiatives and provide strategic guidance to our clients.As the Data Governance Leader, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and overseeing enterprise-wide data governance frameworks, focusing on data quality, compliance and metadata management. You will leverage your experience with Microsoft Purview to ensure clients' data governance practices are aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.This role requires a combination of strategic leadership, technical expertise and client-facing communication skills.Key Responsibilities:Lead the design and implementation of data governance frameworks, policies and processes across client organizationsUtilize Microsoft Purview to manage and enhance data governance, including data cataloging, classification, lineage and data lifecycle managementDevelop and enforce data standards, policies and practices to ensure data accuracy, security and regulatory complianceCollaborate with data stewards, data owners and business stakeholders to establish data governance roles, responsibilities and data stewardship processesProvide strategic recommendations to clients for improving data governance maturity and driving data-driven decision-makingMonitor and report on data governance metrics, compliance status and data quality improvementsConduct data governance assessments and audits to ensure adherence to policies and identify areas for improvementStay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies and regulatory changes that impact data governanceAbout YouExperience:Experience in a consulting environment is a plus, with demonstrated success in client-facing rolesExtensive experience in data governance, data management, or data strategy rolesProven experience with Microsoft Purview, including hands-on expertise in implementing data governance and compliance frameworks using the platformUnderstanding of data privacy regulations (e.g. GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and industry standards for data governanceExperience working with metadata management, data catalogs, data lineage and data classificationExcellent leadership, project management and organizational skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teamsStrong communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts into business value for clientsPreferred Skills:Familiarity with cloud data governance tools beyond Microsoft Purview, such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks and SnowflakeExperience in data governance maturity assessments and frameworks like DAMA DMBOKData Governance and Data Management certifications (e.g., DGSP, CDMP) are a plusSome of the Perks20 days paid vacation per year and 12 BJSS holidays5 paid sick daysCompetitive medical, dental and vision plans employer funded 80%4 x salary Life and AD&DCommuter benefits401K plan (BJSS will contribute 3% of salary into your 401K)An industry-leading referral scheme, with no limits on the number of referralsOur roles are not fully remote as we take pride in the tight knit communities we have created at our local offices.
