Linux Systems Administrator
to join our growing team.Job Responsibilities:Ensure 24/7 operation of highly available customer-facing and internal server environments at multiple data centersOptimize performance, reliability, survivability and security of each host and its associated servicesProvide technical support to programmers/developers for deployment or modification of their dev environments and ensure that developers are using their resources effectivelyResearch, design and implement new technologies, deploy servers and services, coordinate with internal teams as requiredManage backups and ensure disaster recovery complianceManage access to servers and servicesCreate and enforce policies, procedures, and documentationProvide innovative solutions to build and scale infrastructureWho YOU AreAble to work independently and see tasks through to completionComfortable working as part of a teamA good communicator – both verbally and in writingWork well under pressure in a fast-paced environmentDetail-oriented and organizedA problem solverQualificationsBachelor in Computer Science or equivalent degree5+ years experience in Linux system administrationExtensive experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux or its derivatives (CentOS) and VMware ESXiKnowledge of underlying hardware/infrastructure and monitoringAdministration of bind and zone files, Apache, nginx, NTP, sendmail, Java, Wowza, Docker, syslogNetworking – understand subnetting/vlans, iptables, bonding network interfaces/lacp, multihomed devices, adding routes, etc.Thorough understanding of NFS, Samba, file systems and volumes, LVMMySQL/MariaDB configuration, performance monitoring, and managing access privilegesAbility to troubleshoot issues across the entire stack, identify the root cause, and interface with appropriate resources for resolutionConfiguration management and monitoring services such as Nagios, SNMP, SolarWindsProgramming or scripting experience in perl, python, php, or shell script is a plusExperience with Jira is a plusWhat We OfferThe EarthCam package includes excellent salaries, bonuses, benefits, and constant opportunities for development – designed to create an entrepreneurial, invigorating and satisfying environment.
