Senior Employment Attorney
with over 8 years of dedicated experience in employment law. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of employment litigation, regulatory compliance, and advisory services across a range of employment-related matters. While having a
portable book of business
is advantageous, it is not a requirement for the role. The firm offers a minimum target of 1,900 billable hours, with the opportunity to earn additional compensation for hours exceeding that target. This role offers a competitive compensation structure and a
generous benefits package .Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage complex employment law cases, including litigation, regulatory compliance, and advisory matters.Represent clients in employment disputes, including wrongful termination, discrimination, wage and hour claims, and class action lawsuits.Provide comprehensive legal counsel on employment-related policies, employee handbooks, hiring and termination procedures, and workplace investigations.Conduct risk assessments and advise clients on best practices to avoid potential litigation and regulatory issues.Oversee employment-related litigation, including preparing pleadings, conducting discovery, and handling motion practice.Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop tailored strategies for managing employment disputes, both in and out of court.Engage in business development activities, fostering strong client relationships and identifying opportunities to grow the firm’s employment practice.Maintain a
minimum billable hour target of 1,900 hours
annually, with additional compensation for hours worked beyond this threshold.Mentor and guide junior associates, sharing expertise and promoting the professional development of the team.Qualifications and Experience:8+ years
of experience in employment law, with a strong focus on litigation, compliance, and advisory services.Proven track record of managing a diverse caseload of employment disputes, including class actions and regulatory investigations.Experience handling a variety of employment law matters, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and wage and hour claims.A
portable book of business
is highly valued but not required.Demonstrated success in building and maintaining client relationships, with the ability to develop new business opportunities.Excellent research, writing, and advocacy skills, with a focus on preparing effective legal documents and presenting strong arguments in court.Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also managing cases independently.Educational Background:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Active member in good standing with the
California State Bar .Certifications:Additional certifications in employment law or related fields are beneficial but not required.Ongoing participation in
Continuing Legal Education (CLE)
with a focus on employment law is preferred.Skills and Abilities:Expertise in handling complex employment law litigation and regulatory matters.Advanced knowledge of California and federal employment laws, including wage and hour regulations, anti-discrimination laws, and employee benefits.Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while meeting or exceeding billable hour targets.Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex legal issues to clients clearly.Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to reach favorable resolutions for clients in employment disputes.Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on business development and expanding the firm’s employment law practice.Competitive and

$50/hour
