We are humble but proud of our heritage, built on our commitment to quality products and our most valued asset, talented people who are invited to be themselves and enhance our distinctive and evolving workplace culture.ABOUT YOU:As the Communications Specialist, you will represent Santa Cruz Bicycles to North American media outlets, develop the communication tools for a global team, and support your team members in creating assets and content for various channels. Your goal is to ensure the Santa Cruz Bicycles brand exposure and representation is high quality. You will be the main point of contact for North American media liaisons - maintaining a database of contacts, developing new relationships, fielding media inquiries, managing events, and facilitating 1:1 discussions and group press camp activities.You will also produce copy including retailer newsletters, consumer newsletters, website copy, promotional language, training materials, press releases and social media captions and comments. As a global brand, the materials produced must be translated so communication and cultural context with the global team is critical to increase distribution worldwide.WHAT DOES YOUR DAY JOB LOOK LIKE?Create content for multiple channels, including but not limited to: Customer newsletters, Athlete newsletters, Retailer newsletters, Advertisements and YouTube descriptionsCreate copy for web page content updates (e.g., homepage, product descriptions)Work with Global Marketing teammates to ensure consistent messaging and vibe worldwide, deliver assets for them to use (e.g., copy, links, digital assets)Collaborate with the Communications team on, for example, social media campaigns and posts, assist with the schedule of content and ensure it is executed to brand standardsCreate new and maintain existing relationships and communication with MediaKeep the database updated with all necessary information about media relationshipsOrganize, execute and attend high-quality press camps and media activationsCreate ongoing reporting of existing earned media value, and make recommendations for priority, inclusion/exclusion, and the expansion of the media landscapeResearch and coordinate media ad buysLead annual media relations planning and execution in alignment with New Product Introductions, brand stories and annual Marketing PlaybookEnsure the circulation of products to media in collaboration with the regional marketing teamsWHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:7+ years in a Marketing Communications role including copywriting and PRExperience in the outdoor industry, bike industry is preferredBachelor’s Degree from an accredited university is preferredExquisite communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally in person and online with media, athletes, the general public and co-workersExperience in event logistics and ability to provide a high-quality hospitality experienceAdvanced mountain bike product knowledgeExperience with mountain bike fit, suspension set-up, maintenance and mechanicsAbility to lead or join mountain bike rides with mediaAbility to travel up to 20% of the time around the United States and CanadaMust have a clean driving record and the ability to drive up to 8 hours a dayLANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend and explain documents in English. Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, in English.PHYSICAL DEMANDS FOR THE ROLE:

This compensation package will be dependent on experience, qualifications, industry experience and the interview with a potential range of up to $75,000 - $100,000.
