Sr. Payroll Specialist

Innovation is in our DNA.Summary:The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing complex payroll issues and supporting the Payroll Accountant in daily operations. This role involves processing off-cycle payroll, handling multi-state payroll for terminations, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring accuracy across various systems. Experience in the restaurant industry is a plus, especially given the unique payroll intricacies for one of our venues in California. This is an hourly position that will require availability on weekends and evenings.Responsibilities:Payroll:Ensure timeliness and accuracy of payroll processing for all Cosm employeesOversee the integrity of payroll data input into payroll systemSupport the Payroll Accountant with day-to-day payroll operations, including multi-state payroll processing and terminations.Review timesheets for accuracy, including missed hours and tips.Reconcile data between different systems to ensure accuracy.Handle complex payroll issues and provide resolution.Collaborate with HR and Payroll Accountant on various payroll tasks and projects.Troubleshoot discrepancies, exceptions, payment holds, compliance issues, etc.Requirements:5+ years’ experience payroll processing requiredProven experience in payroll processing within the restaurant and retail industry, particularly with California payroll regulations.Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills preferredStrong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skillsFamiliarity with Dayforce; experience with Tiphaus and Micros is a plus.Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.Experience with multi-state payroll is requiredDetail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others; conducts working relationships in a manner acceptable to others and the organizationConsistently demonstrates a commitment to Company policies and procedures, including but not limited to attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities.The annualized base salary range for this position in California is $28/hr. to $40/hr. The base salary offered will factor in internal equity and may also vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and relevant experience, among other factors.Cosm is an equal opportunity employer.
