Intensive Specialty Hospital is a Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH). We provide cardiopulmonary care, ventilator and respiratory care, complex wound care, rehabilitation therapies, addiction medicine program, geriatric psychiatry program, multidisciplinary pain program, and outpatient counseling programs. With four locations in Shreveport and Bossier City, we are the largest provider of LTACH services in Northwest Louisiana.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalency four years of HIM management experience

Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification and must maintain certification renewal in accordance with the standards of the AHIMA preferred

Certified Coding Specialist credential (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) preferred or equivalent experience and education

Current Registration by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and meets continuing education requirements by AHIMA.

Three years supervisory experience in the Health Information Services department in acute care setting preferred.

3M software and Meditech experience preferred

Effective management, organizational, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Must be able to read, write, and speak English

Requirements:

Basic knowledge of computer skills - Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required

Willingness to learn electronic medical records system

Strong communication, patient/customer care, and leadership abilities

The ability to organize and time-manage

Team-player

Willingness to "fill-in" in any capacity requiring assistance

Certifications:

RHIT or RHIS, CCS or CPC
