With teams focusing on admissions, fellowship advising, writing support and public speaking training, diversity initiatives, career exploration and planning, and administration, UChicagoGRAD works with campus partners to support students and postdocs at every stage of their academic careers and beyond.
Job SummaryUnder the direction of the Office of the Provost, the Director of Graduate Enrollment Operations and Policy will serve as the central resource for graduate admissions policies, Slate administration, and enrollment operations. The director will support enrollment strategies to help divisions increase applications and selectivity, improve yield, and increase net tuition revenue.
ResponsibilitiesLiaise with partner offices to implement relevant admissions-related policies and data.Provide institutional guidance and coordinate with the Slate team.Implement additional uses of Slate, including applications for FLAS, summer programs, exchange programs.Oversee non-technical aspects of the annual application review.Work with Institutional Analysis to inform admissions strategies.Coordinate and oversee online resources for incoming students.Support outreach and recruitment activities undertaken by direct reports and campus partners.Inform creation of materials related to graduate programs at UChicago.Support off-campus travel and recruitment opportunities.Develop operational plans to execute admissions strategies, policies, and procedures.Maintain relationships with all organizations involved in the admissions process.Perform other related work as needed.
Minimum QualificationsEducation:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.Work Experience:
Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.Certifications:
None required.
Preferred QualificationsEducation:Advanced degree (e.g., Master's degree).Experience:Experience in research-intensive university setting.Experience in data collection and analysis strongly preferred.Technical Skills or Knowledge:Strong oral and written communication skills.Familiarity with standard tools and software, such as MS Office suite.Proficiency with Slate.
Preferred CompetenciesStrong administrative and project management skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Independent decision-making skills.Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.Familiarity with graduate education and admissions.Ability to communicate effectively with campus partners.Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
