Retail CECL and CCAR Model Director
The Retail CECL and CCAR Director will oversee development of models for use in CCAR and CECL. This includes residential mortgage, home equity loans and lines, indirect auto and RV/Marine, and other direct originated secured and unsecured consumer products.
The leader will serve as the primary representative to internal and external stakeholders, developing deep relationships with line of business leaders, Model Risk Management, regulators and auditors. It is paramount that the leader of the organization creates a culture of effective risk management, accountability, and demonstration of risk awareness across the organization.
Responsibilities:
Manage a team responsible for the development of a broad suite of CCAR and CECL models. Model types include credit loss (PD, LGD, and EAD), payoff, and utilization models.
Develop deep understanding of Huntington portfolios and serve as an expert in the appropriate design of modeling suites to cover the unique needs and circumstances of the Huntington portfolios.
Represent results of CCAR and CECL processes to management committees and other stakeholders.
Effectively utilize and lead a blended team of onshore and offshore colleagues.
Lead research and design to maintain industry standard modeling practices and advancements to current state processes.
Basic Qualifications:
Master’s or PhD in a quantitative degree.
10+ years’ experience working with model risk management, external audit, and regulators within a large bank environment with experience in multiple software environments, to include SAS, Python, or R.
Experience in the development of retail CCAR and CECL models, specifically within an exploded panel, snapshot sampling, or super panel hazard modeling framework for retail products.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience across multiple retail product types.
Clear communication skills to all levels of management (written and verbal).
Perform supervisory functions, including but not limited to, making employment decisions regarding hiring, promoting, demoting and terminating, conducting performance appraisals and coaching and developing staff.
Exempt Status:
Yes (not eligible for overtime pay)
