We currently have an amazing opportunity for a Medical Assistant to join our Family Medical Clinic with three locations. Arthrex is headquartered in Naples, Florida, which has great weather year-round and no state income tax!
Main Objective:
The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of medical practice under the direct supervision and responsibility of a physician. This role will assist with patient care management, execute administrative and clinical procedures. Additionally, this role may assist performing x-rays and may assist with the radiology needs of the clinic. Competence in the field also requires that a medical assistant adhere to ethical and legal standards of professional practice, recognize and respond to emergencies, and demonstrate professional characteristics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performing aseptic procedures.
- Taking vital signs.
- Preparing patients for the physician's care.
- Performing venipunctures and non-intravenous injections.
- Observing and reporting patients' signs or symptoms.
- Administering basic first aid.
- Assisting with patient examinations or treatments.
- Operating office medical equipment.
- Collecting routine laboratory specimens as directed by the physician.
- Administering medication as directed by the physician.
- Performing basic laboratory procedures.
- Performing office procedures including all general administrative duties required by the physician.
- May operate radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes
- May take x-rays following established radiologic requirements to ensure patient care and safety.
- May prepare/instruct patient about contrast media and examination technique.
- May administer contrast media effectively and safely per established procedures.
- May perform initial patient micro needling consultations, maintain proper documentation of micro needling procedures and provide teaching and aftercare instructions to avoid any potential complications per physician recommendations
- May perform cardiac stress test under physician supervision
- Ensure necessary supplies are stocked and cleanliness of procedure room is maintained
- Order supplies and coordinate procedures within the clinic

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Certification by the American Association of American Medical Assistants or as a Registered Medical Assistant by the American Medical Technologists preferred
- Graduate of an approved ARRT Radiological Technology School preferred
- Current ARRT registration and respective, valid State certification preferred
- At least two or more years of experience working in and performing Radiology preferred
- Advanced training and Certification in Micro needling preferred
- X-ray training and certification preferred
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
- Current certification and skill in basic life support (BLS)
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language fluently
- Spanish speaking a plus
- Experienced with EMR systems a plus
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with staff which includes effective communication, getting along with coworkers and management and dealing efficiently and professionally under pressure
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
PCs, Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, and Outlook, plus any additional communications equipment as needed.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of administrative and clinical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to comprehend and apply mathematical principles to the degree required to perform the job based upon job requirements.
Language and Communication Skills:
Ability to comprehend and apply language skills to the degree required to perform the job based upon the job requirements listed above. Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management. Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures.
