What You Will Be Doing
Contribute to the Firm's reputation for excellence by providing highly efficient and effective document creation and editing, document repair and recovery, and MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint expertise.
Hours will be Monday - Friday 3:00 pm - 12:00 am
About This RoleCreates and edits complex legal documents to specifications using advanced word processing and software knowledge including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, firm databases and the Internet.Cleans documents, converts documents to/from different software packages, recovers and restore corrupted documents and transcribes audio/video as required.Produces financial statements, flow charts, presentations and other documents as requested.Proofreads work product to ensure accuracy of format, spelling, punctuation and grammar prior to returning finished product to the author. Meets strict deadlines and effectively completes designated job assignments. Communicates effectively the daily workflow to successfully transition workflow between shifts.Monitors WH Document Processing email and department phone line. Responds to, works on and completes work requests using appropriate SharePoint control sheets.Manage updates and maintenance of the department's SharePoint TeamSite and WH intranet website as needed, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all posted documentation.Creates and maintains department processing and procedure documentation.Participates or manages special projects and performs other duties as assigned.Follows all department procedures for logging, processing and returning of work; demonstrates teamwork by providing support and assistance to other Document Processing Specialists as necessary.Contributes to the Firm's overall initiative to consistently improve its image internally and externally. Displays professionalism, quality service and a "can do" attitude to internal members/departments of the Firm as well as external clients and vendors via electronic and print correspondence, over the telephone and in-person.Required Skills
Your Qualifications/What You Will Bring
Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision in an atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities, and deadline pressure.Excellent business writing skills including knowledge of business English as necessary to present information that requires some origination and/or compilation.Demonstrated ability to effectively use PC-based and on-line technology, database, presentation, and spreadsheet software currently in use at WilmerHale. Excellent interpersonal skills, as necessary to work effectively with people at all levels at WilmerHale.Ability to train and guide others performing closely related or allied work.Demonstrated knowledge of department terminology, use of quick reference materials, and standard proofreader marks.Ability to effectively communicate via email, telephone and in-person with other Firm personnel regarding work requests.Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment. 8. Exceptional customer service skills.Required Experience
Education:
High school diploma required. Associate's Degree or equivalent experience.Experience:
Minimum 2 years' experience (in addition to that listed above) that is directly related to the duties or skills described herein is required.Expert knowledge of MS Word, including formatting documents and understanding the Styles function.
