Our client is seeking a Technical Writer at the Senior level to support our Air Force Distributed Common Ground System (AF DCGS) program. The Air Force Distributed Common Ground System (AF DCGS) is an intelligence enterprise system, comprised of 27 active duty, Air National Guard (ANG), and mission partner sites, interconnected by a robust communications infrastructure spanning the globe. The network centric, global enterprise provides 24/7/365 world-wide, Near-Real-Time (NRT) simultaneous Multi-Intelligence (Multi-Int) capabilities and products to Combatant Commanders (CCMDs).

Technical writers will have the competencyto apply writing skills and substantial knowledge of the basic principles and specialized vocabulary of the subject matter to accurately communicate the technological developments to interested stakeholders. They will apply writing skills and an understanding of the appropriate equipment and systems to the development of specifications showing the characteristics and capabilities or the design and test requirements of equipment and systems. This includes the development of training, operating, specifications or maintenance manuals associated with equipment and systems. Additionally, they will report on findings and programmatic decisions, articulate program policies, and explain technical aspects of the program in such a way as to make it clear without sacrificing thoroughness and accuracy. Technical writers may make final reviews of proposed publications for style, design, layout, and editorial aspects before release.

The proposed salary range for this position is $67,000-$90,500. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications. RESPONSIBILITIESOversee the efforts of less senior staffDeliver technical documentation for all systems services required for the maintenance and sustainment of AF DCGS in accordance with best commercial practices utilizing Compact Disc Read-Only Memory (CD -ROM) and centralized repositories (SharePoint, Intelink)Attend various design reviews and meetings and document discussions/decisionsAssist engineers, analysts, and junior technical writers with technical writing, review, and document developmentUtilize validated data to create technical documents; identify issues, updates, problemsApply an in-depth understanding of client delivery process, tradecraft, and intelligence standards, aids junior technical writers throughout this processCreate new enterprise-level processes, adjudicate stakeholder comments, route for signatureInitiate Data Call process for new activities or programsDistribute via appropriate channels to share information with stakeholdersIdentify correct records schedule and records transfer and disposition proceduresUtilizing best practices ensuring records are stored/archived in the appropriate systems (AFRIMS, ERM, NARA, Confluence, JIRA, SharePoint & Intelink)KEY QUALIFICATIONS

Master's Degree should be in STEM field or related field and 10 years of experience. Master's Degree is negotiable with Bachelor's Degree in STEM field or related field with additional 8 years of equivalent experience. 12 years work experience may also be substituted for a Master's Degree.Security+ certificationAble to work on high visibility or mission critical aspects and perform functional duties independently.Able to oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of other staff as assigned, if needed.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Willingness to travel if requiredADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
