Position Description : Installs and writes programmable logic controller-based systems, maintains electronic and instrument based components of machinery and equipment while following electrical code, ladder logic, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications. Assists in project management and implementation of new control systems. He/She will program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC's with a lap top computer using platform systems by vendors such as Allen Bradley, Semiens, Rexroth, etc., assists in project management and implementation of new control systems, control system upgrades, equipment, and equipment upgrades. The PLC Programmer replaces faulty switches, and other elements of electrical and mechanical systems, dismantles electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes, and armatures, installs, repairs, overhauls, modifies and maintains electrical and mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery, diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electrical, electronic, and mechanical components throughout the plant and maintains Plant power distribution systems, including performing preventive maintenance, and installing wiring, conduit and apparatus.

Requirements: Associate's degree in electronic or electrical technology or equivalent experience. 5 years progressively responsible journey level experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance of industrial equipment and machinery to including PLC based systems, servo motors, and drives. Project management experience. AutoCad experience.

Knowledge and Skills: Working knowledge and experience with Ladder Logic. Ability to write ladder logic. Ability to program controls. Ability to use AutoCad Working knowledge of electronic and electrical concepts and operating safety. Working knowledge of and demonstrated ability to use electronic and electrical test equipment including digital and analog volt and ohm-meters, oscilloscopes, data analyzers and circuit testers. Knowledge of current national electrical code. Demonstrated ability to use hand and power tools commonly used in electrical, electronic, and mechanical trades. They MUST be able to speak to skills with building PLCs from scratch Must be able to answer, "what Languages have they programmed in and for how many years with each Autocad experience will be asked?"
