THE POSITION

The HR Intern provides general administrative support to one or more functional areas of human resources, including recruiting, employee relations, compensation, benefits, training, and/or employee records. The Intern will gain experience in the on-boarding of new employees, maintenance of employment records, compiling data and statistics for various HR management reports, and employee engagement.

Specific responsibilities include:Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resources files, records, and documentation including, but not limited to, employee records and organization charts.Schedule interviews as directed by the corporate recruiter.May conduct initial phone screenings for entry level positions.Process the onboarding of new hires ensuring all required forms are signed by new employees and filed timely.Create training schedules and agendas for New Hire Orientation.Greet New Hires and escort to appropriate location for orientation. Assist with orientation sessions and logistics of new hire training.Assist with special projects for the Human Resources Department such as performance and compensation management, employee relations, and implementation of initiatives such as engagement with focus on retention, onboarding, orientation, and training.Help drive adoption and utilization of HR tools throughout the organization.Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resources files and records.Assist with the planning and execution of special events such as benefit enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, and holiday parties.Prepare HR-related reports including new hire and turnover reports, as well as tracking of compliance training and/or learning completion.MORE ABOUT BRANDSTAR

Experience and Skills

Current student enrolled in Bachelor's Degree program in Human Resources, Management, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or related major.Prior administrative office or HR experience a plus.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.Must be able to handle confidential information with discretion.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.Ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously and handle stressful situations in a professional manner.Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Work and Outlook).
