The Role:
The C&I Relationship Manager is responsible for the build-out and growth in lending to SMBs in the Greater New York and New Jersey markets for the Bank.
Responsibilities:Identify new SBM relationships for working capital lending.Identify and structure commercial credit transactions.Oversee preparation of consolidated credit and portfolio informationAnalyze credit and risk impacts of new business proposals, transactions, and financial trends, concepts, principles, and regulations to determine actual and/or potential effects on the business entity with appropriate risk and profitability.Drive profitability by ensuring the credit and financial impact of all business decisions (including pricing) is independently evaluated and recommendations made to the business to mitigate any financial risks.Monitor credit quality within the existing portfolio and act as appropriate.Participate in joint calls with business partners to develop customer relationships and support specific product sales across business lines.Qualifications :
Formal Credit training is required.Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, credit-related field and at least ten plus years of increasingly diverse or complex applications in finance.MBA and/or significant experience in a consumer and commercial finance environment are strongly preferred.Minimum five years with direct experience with C&I lending (loan sizes between $1million to $10million).Demonstrates an advanced level of knowledge in both core and specialty industry lending products and services.Capital Call Lending and Venture-backed lending a plus.Established client network.Robust network of referral sources.Ability to form effective relationships and achieve influence at the most senior level in the organization.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Established credit, industrial, and risk acumen.Understand and interpret complex business and regulatory requirements.Ability to make robust/tough decisions, which may be contrary to the businesses wishes; Working across all levels of the organization to understand cross-functional linkages and interdependencies, as well as the implications of risk and regulations at both a strategic level and at the business unit level.
The hiring range for this position is $130,000 to $175,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. A bonus and/or incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, dental, vision, 401k, and other benefits.
