Procurement Intern

with NVR, your 10-week paid internship will allow you to gain experience in a variety of business segments. It will provide the foundation you need to succeed in the homebuilding industry. In fact, many of our summer interns go on to join NVR full time after graduation

Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Intern to join our team for a 10-week internship. This internship offers a comprehensive introduction to various aspects of procurement, including lumber purchasing, supplier performance, project management, and risk management. The intern will gain hands-on experience and insights into the procurement processes and strategies within our organization.

Responsibilities

Week 1: NVR Orientation

Attend Procurement Leadership Introduction and Welcome Lunch.Receive an Introduction to NVR from the Team Lead or designated representative.Participate in an ASD Overview (TBD).Spend a day at Thurmont with Assistant Procurement Manager (APM).Spend a day in the field with the Team Lead or designated representative.Week 2: Lumber Purchasing and Expediting

Learn about lumber purchasing with members of the lumber purchasing team.Get introduced to Lumber ExpeditingWeek 3: Supplier Delivery Performance

Analyze lumber supplier delivery performance with APM.Review OEM supplier delivery performance with APM.Engage in Lumber Expediting activities.Week 4: Quality Management and Expediting

Continue Lumber Expediting activities.Overview of the Quality Management Plan with the Team Lead or designated representative.Week 5: Project Management and Analytics

Introduction to the Resource/Project Management System (JIRA) with Analytics Team Lead.Participate in an Analytics Activity project TBD.Week 6: Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM)

Introduction to CLM with SR Procurement Coordinator..Week 7: OEM Category Project and Supplier Qualification

Engage in an OEM Category Project.Participate in a Supplier Qualification project with an NVR Team Lead.Week 8: OEM Category Project and Compliance Research

Continue working on the OEM Category Project.Conduct Code/Regulatory Compliance Research with the Team Lead.Week 9: OEM Category Project and Strategy Development

Continue working on the OEM Category Project.Develop Category Strategy with the Team Lead and or Group Sourcing Manager.Week 10: Risk Management

Introduction to the Risk Management System (Resilinc) with Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager.Participate in a Risk Activity projectQualifications:

Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Benefits:
