As our next Contract Vegetation Program Manager, you're on your way to the open road and traveling the trails! We keep the lights on anywhere there's a power line - whether in the city, the rural countryside, or deep in the remote forest. As a Contract Vegetation Program Manager, you'll keep communities informed about the trees and power lines, while ensuring safe delivery of their power and pursuing opportunities to develop sustainable habitat throughout the utility right-of-way. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions:Coordinate the daily activities of Consulting Utility Foresters (CUF's)Act as the intermediary between Eocene personnel and Utility PersonnelTrain, supervise, and audit CUF'sIdentify, inspect, and evaluate trees and brush along utility linesSubmit inspection results to clients with recommendationsDiscuss and negotiate line-clearance crew access issuesServe as a liaison between clients, tree crews, and client customerSafeguard employees and the public from hazards in and around the work areaHelp enforce on-the-job safety practicesCarry and utilize materials, tools, and equipment at work siteService trucks and equipment. Keep trucks and other assigned equipment in a neat and orderly fashion. Report the need for equipment and truck repairs to supervisor.Perform other related duties as required or assignedJOB REQUIREMENTS:
A State issued Driver's License is required for this job assignment. A clear MVR is also requiredDegree or experience in Forestry, Utility Arboriculture, Tree Biology, Environmental Sciences, Natural Resources, Conservation, or related fieldA minimum of two (2) years' experience in utility line clearance or species identification skills and invasive species knowledge, plus knowledge of tree growth ratesThe CVPM shall exhibit supervisory capabilities and be familiar with the Contractor's work practicesISA Certified Arborist Certification or ability to obtain within 6 monthsUtility Specialist certification or ability to obtain within 6 monthsAn ability to interact with customers, government agencies and other stakeholders as required or directedSuperior species identification skills and invasive species knowledge, plus knowledge of tree growth ratesAbility to work independentlyStrong verbal and written communications skillsAbility to work in rugged terrain and inclement weatherAbility to read and follow maps
