The Department of Children and Families is seeking an ADLU Supervisor who is committed to upholding the department's fundamental mission of protecting children from abuse and neglect to ensure they are able to grow and thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive)

:

Provides case consultation and clinical supervision to direct social service employees of lower grades. Performs related administrative duties and performs related work as requiredResponding in writing and through direct and telephone interviews to families inquiring about adoption. Assist families in determining whether they are interested in the types of children waiting for adoption within the Department of Children and Families.Organize and conduct agency and community recruitment and informational meetings.Prepare general and child specific media material.Meet on a regular basis with staff in area offices to identify children needing placement.Organize and conduct MAPP groups.Complete family assessments including written narrative.Organize and participate in matching activities such as meetings for potential adoptive families and meetings with placement workers to discuss waiting children and families.Conduct child-specific recruitment activities.Consult with placement workers in the appropriate child/family match for placement and assist families in decisions around placement of specific children.Provide leadership of post placement support groups.Preferred Qualifications:

Thorough knowledge of adoption, foster care and family issues.Ability to work with individuals and families to help them examine personal issues.Aptitude to lead MAPP and/or educational and support groups.Capacity to write clearly and to complete writing assignments in a timely manner.Ability to speak in public to large and small audiences and to speak in electronic media programs.Knowledge of the communities covered by their recruitment unit, including concerning racial and ethnic minority communities.Cultural competence and sensitivityAbility to speak a language in addition to English, preferably bilingual SpanishExperience working in collaboration with other social work staff.To Apply:

Qualifications:First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days.

Applicants must have (A) a Master's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, counseling education or criminal justice or a relevant human services degree and (B) a current and valid Licensures as a Licensed Social Work Associate, Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Certified Social Worker or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker issued by the Massachusetts Board of Registration*, and (C) and three (3) years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in social work, or (D) or any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.

*Applicants at the Department of Children and Families must obtain the required license in Social Work within the first nine (9) months of employment.

The classification may require possession of a current and valid Motor Vehicle Driver's License at a class level specific to assignment.

Substitutions:

I. A Doctorate degree in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required (C) experience.
