Job Description:
Job Description & Skill Requirement:
Restricted to US Citizen Only • Candidate must report on-site. Flexible with any one of the LTTS ITAR offices (Rockford/Plano/Windsor Locks). • Candidate must be willing to travel to customer location as required • Problem Solver who has demonstrated ability in managing from start to finish the FAA and DoD Certification Process for Avionic Electrical Systems. • Review of technology maturation, component capability, supplier transitions, product re-design, product improvements, requirement compliance, requirement verification and supplier assessments • Thorough understanding of Electrical Power Generation System, including Motors/Generators , Bus Controllers, and Power Conversion Units to Aerospace standard DO-160 and DO-254 / DO-178. Review for Supplier Designed Equipment • Work closely with Design and Systems Teams to confirm full specification compliance and drive timely problem report resolutions • Coordination with customers to work through specification derivation questions Test planning and procedure development that will demonstrate compliance to specifications Conduct Test Readiness • Review prior to test start Support root cause investigations as needed along with Design Team Ongoing communication with Engineering Program Manager to enable issues be quickly addressed • Work with the broader organization in delivering to shared vision and goals and, as such, will play a central role in several engineering activities including: • Participate in LEAN engineering activities such as release planning, concept and technical design reviews, and LEAN events Ensure cross-system dependencies and system integration activities are addressed in the program plan • Ensure projects are supported through entire life-cycle. Explain difficult or sensitive information and promote agreement Coach system engineers and engineering team members • Review, evaluate, provide comments, approve and reject technical documents for Design specification, circuit Design/analysis/modeling, Notice of changes, failure investigations • FAA Certification(s) is a bonus.
Qualification:
BS/MS in a relevant Engineering field (Energy, System, Automotive, Aerospace, Electrical, Computer) • 5-10+ years working in Aerospace Engineering Management • 10-20+ years Aerospace Engineering Design, Development and Test • DOORS® Experience (Required) • PTC Windchill® Experience (Required) • DO-160 Test Experience (Required)
