**Shift:** 12-Hour Nights, 18:45 - 07:15; Every Other Weekend
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum 2 years of ER experience
**License:** Emergency License may be requested
**Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, TNCC (PALS or ENPC recommended but not required)
**Must-Have:**- Experience with general emergency department procedures- Ability to manage 4:1 patient ratios
**Job Description:**
- Work in a Level III Trauma Center emergency room environment- Manage 21 ED beds and 1 Trauma Bay- Utilize 4 Fast Track beds and 2 triage rooms, with travelers allowed to triage- Handle ER holds intermixed within the ER- Utilize separate psych/seclusion rooms, easily converted to crisis rooms- Collaborate with in-house security- Attend to approximately 125 patients per day- Access to 24/7 ED physician coverage and PA support for 8-16 hours per day- Support from 24/7 ED Charge RN and House Supervisor- Work with ED Techs available 24/7- Use Meditech EMR system- Operate and assist with RT equipment such as vents, CPAP, and BiPAP- Participate in ABG and breathing treatments (performed by RT) and EKGs (performed by RNs and Techs)- Utilize telemetry; RNs are expected to read strips- Coordinate with imaging staff for patient transport for X-ray and CT scans- Perform nurse or ED Tech blood draws- Orientation provided before first shift
Note: Scheduling includes every other weekend and holiday requirements as per contract. No floating or call/standby requirements. Scrub color is flexible except for purple.
