JOB OVERVIEWThe role of the Sanitation Technician is responsible for cleaning and maintaining our distribution center floors and other sanitation related areas so that they fully meet McDonald, IFS, and safety requirements. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMust be able to use the tools and equipment generally associated with the task of cleaning and maintaining the distribution floors. This includes, but not limited to hand tools, brooms, mops, Tennant sweeper, propane burnisher.Operate battery powered industrial equipment such as jacks and forkliftsOperate Stationary powered equipment such as plastic and cardboard compactors, balers, stretch wrap machine and battery changing equipment.Operate a scissor man-liftMust be able to read and understand documented process and written instructions.Must be able to write and record legible, accurate and timely documentation of work assignments on workers, daily logs, and Master Sanitation ScheduleMust be able to climb ladders and work at heights of at least 13 feet 6 inches.Must continuously protect the environment when working with contaminating substancesMust be responsible for keeping all white and yellow lines clear and cleanOther duties may include, but not limited to, gathering plastic and cardboard throughout the distribution center, bale the recyclables, gather trash and dump into trash compactors, dust warehouse racking, clean offices, locker rooms and restrooms and other duties as assigned.Ensure facility is upkept according to company's requirements RequirementsREQUIRED EXPERIENCEAt least 2 years of warehouse distribution experience with the use of industrial power equipment and sanitation processesEDUCATION REQUIREMENTSA high school diploma or GEDPERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTKnowledgeKnowledge of chemical and sanitation safetySkillsSkill in proper cleaning and sanitation proceduresProblem-solving skillsAbilitiesMust be able to work, stand and walk on a concrete or aluminum floor during the workdayMust be able to work and stand on slick floor with grease, moisture, or frost during the workdayBe able to be involved in limited climbing activitiesEQUIPMENT OPERATEDStandard sanitation equipment in addition to distribution equipment including pallet jacks, scissor lifts, etc.WORK ENVIRONMENTThe Sanitation Technician will primarily work in a distribution warehouse environment.MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSWork in areas that are not air-conditionedWork exposed to extreme temperatures: freezer at -5 degrees and cooler at 32 degreesWork safety with or near mechanical hazards such us moving industrial; power equipmentBending, stooping, squatting, kneeling employee must be able to adjust body level and position, for extended periods of time and throughout the workday to accomplish the works requirementsStanding and walking generally for 7 hours back and forthPushing, pulling broom all dayMoving tools and equipment like mop bucket, tenant Sweeper, propane burnisher and Scrubber.
