We have an opportunity for a
Construction
Quality Control Manager
who will lead and coordinate project-specific quality control activities. This role is crucial in ensuring that all work aligns with on-site construction methods, as outlined in Hourigan's procedures manual, project requirements, and contract documents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Collaborate with the Superintendent on all project start-up activities as detailed in the procedures manual.
•Thoroughly understand and maintain current project contract documents.
•Develop and manage the project submittal/procurement log in coordination with Subcontractors, the Project Manager, and the Superintendent.
•Review all project submittals to ensure compliance with construction contract documents.
•Track the status of all submittals to guarantee timely submissions and returns, preventing any disruptions to the construction schedule.
•Co-facilitate Subcontractor pre-installation and coordination meetings alongside the Project Manager and Superintendent.
•Inspect all incoming materials for adherence to construction contract specifications.
•Conduct regular visual inspections throughout all phases of work to ensure high-quality workmanship and the use of approved materials.
•Identify and resolve project-specific issues on-site in collaboration with the Superintendent and/or Project Manager.
•Implement and enforce all required on-site Quality Control and Safety procedures.
•Participate in the Hourigan Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) by committing to safe work practices, raising concerns, attending and applying safety and health training, and eliminating hazards within your capability and control and the help of safety staff.
•Provide resources and support to ensure positive safety and health outcomes in line with the Hourigan SHMS.
Qualifications and Experience:
•Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Safety, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•5-7+ years of industry experience, preferably in general contracting.
•OSHA 30, First Aid, and CPR Certifications.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills.
•Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy, maintaining urgency to ensure project standards and timelines are consistently met.
•Familiarity with Procore and Bluebeam is preferred.
•Extensive knowledge of commercial construction means and methods, LEED certification processes, and industry best practices.
