The Lead In-take Coordinator position is an expert-level position with a superior background in the authorization process. Responsibilities include training and mentoring of other In-take Coordinators. Is partially accountable for the work of others. Acts as a resource for the team manager in problem-solving difficult issues and analyzing difficult workloads. Responsible for handling all aspects of the authorization process and assists with front office responsibilities.Essential Functions
Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital’s policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.Leads the In-take coordinator staff in their daily activities and goals.As a work lead, plans the work of others; assigns and distributes work to others; reviews and checks the work of others.Provides input into manager's actions, including feedback to manager on employee performance; orients and trains employees; may establish or recommend work unit policies and procedures.Assigned more complex cases and escalates issues as they arise.Determines patient financial responsibilities and prepares a written estimate to be made available to the pharmacist and RN caring for the patient.Assists patients/families with insurance issues.Maintains knowledge of active contracts with insurance companies.Tracks new referrals, volume, and statistics.Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.Education:
