Job Description:
Position Summary:
You will be leading the North America sales, use & property tax (SUT Tax) business for Pitney Bowes. You will ensure that all activities related to SUT Tax will be performed and delivered in a timely and accurate manner; including but not limited to, tax entries, reconciliations, and reporting to support monthly, quarterly, and annual requirements. You will supervise the execution of state and local tax filling and reporting. You will interact with and oversee your team of 13 working in India (on U.S. hours), plus 2 in Tampa, Florida. You will work closely with the business, government agencies, and clients to adhere to all relevant regulations and business license requirements, ensure that timely tax outputs are executed at a high quality; foster strong relationships and open communication to achieve successful outcomes for all stakeholders involved.
Responsibilities:
Review, approve, and support under audit the tax compliance cycle for Sales/ Use and Property taxes including but not limited to initial data extraction, return accuracy/timeliness, and payment (Check and ACH)
Oversee a proactive Business License and Tax Exemption renewal process with U.S. Tax Jurisdictions, and support as needed under audit
Approve journal entries, supporting schedules, and balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, for both U.S. and Canada
Rate monthly reconciliation of tax accounts based on RAG score, find remedies as needed
Collaborate with other business units to close related tax issues with clients including tax invoices, systems and government auditors
Collaborate and lead internal tech teams / external partners relating to systems (PTMS, Vertex, SAP, and OLFM) in reviewing any changes to sales and property tax outputs, as well as their applicability and effects
Review, approve, or develop Sales/Use and Property tax DTP, where none exist
Support SOX testing and related reporting requirements
Complete Special Projects as needed or as advised by VP of Tax Accounting
Manage, coach and support a global team, mainly in India
Background:
Bachelor’s degree (Accounting, Finance or General Business)
5+ years of professional experience in Indirect Tax, 2+ years as a manager
Detail, deadline oriented and independent
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent analytical, computational, and mathematical abilities
High competency in MS Office and accounting software
Knowledge of financial and tax systems; SAP, OLFM, PTMS and Vertex preferred
Location:
This will be a Hybrid role. This position currently works four (4) days out of our Tampa office with the option to work from home one (1) day per week. This hybrid status may change based on business need.
Compensation:
The wage range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000 per year, with the actual pay dependent on your skills and experience as they relate to the job requirements and the location where you will be performing the job. This position may be eligible to earn an annual incentive bonus.
