Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Job Specialty: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Job Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15) Guaranteed Hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Must have a valid state license at the time of submission, either a MO license or a compact license in the home state Certifications: Basic Life Support (BCLS), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Must-Have: Epic experience, ability to care for and treat patients with acute and chronic respiratory diseases, comfort in managing mechanically ventilated patients, ability to walk relatively long distances Job Description: - Work three 12-hour shifts per week with every third-weekend rotation - Willingness to work some holidays is required - Expected to work in Intensive Care Units (ICUs) and other floors - Care for patients with acute and chronic respiratory diseases - Manage mechanically ventilated patients - Proficiency in using various airway management devices, including endotracheal tubes and tracheostomy suctioning - Administer medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, and inhaled steroids - Utilize various medication delivery systems including aerosol masks and metered-dose inhalers - Provide oxygen therapy, including High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) - Manage ventilators, including BiPAP and CPAP - Interpret Arterial Blood Gases (ABG) - Float within service lines as required by the facility needs - Complete orientation with 40 hours of non-billable time Please ensure relevant skills checklists are completed prior to submission. Candidates will be required to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliated hospitals as needed. The position includes a requirement to work two out of three major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day. Flu vaccine required, with exemptions for medical or religious reasons only.
