Project/Unit DescriptionThe Command, Control, and Communications Division (C3D) within the Sensors and Electromagnetic Applications Laboratory (SEAL) delivers world-class robust communications and fused data capabilities to the warfighter. C3D focuses on the ideation, development, implementation, testing, and analysis of various technical challenges ranging from joint all-domain command and control warfighting concepts to the challenges posed by the increasing lethality of the modern contested, degraded environment of a near-peer adversary.
Job PurposeThe Solution Architect defines, conceptualizes, describes, and manages an engineering solution specific to the enterprise system. Responsible for understanding the architecture, design, and development of software built for sponsors and running on secure cloud computing networks, specifically focusing on fully automated deployments. Additional responsibilities include understanding how integration with third-party software vendors will impact the system and providing guidance on impact to the enterprise. This position will interact with government sponsors and government technical experts to translate business requirements into technical requirements and provide guidance to technical teams for execution of requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Understand the architecture, design, development, and deployment of the system in relation to the enterprise.
Understands how integration with third-party software vendors will impact the system and providing guidance on impact to the enterprise.
Applies computer science concept and principles to solve problems at the enterprise level.
Understands the System Architecture design (compute, hardware/virtual, OS, storage, networking, security) and how new requirements may impact the design -Is a prime contributor to the requirements, design, or development of Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CICD) processes using DevOps and DevSecOps principles.
Understands and employs best practices such as Architecture as Code
Additional Responsibilities
Development of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for network and cluster administration
Development of Linux scripts for use in system administration and development
Support the design, development, analysis, and implementation of software on medium- and large-scale clusters and computing environments
Create parallel computing tools and frameworks to support mission applications
Lead the development of technical reports
Benchmark software on distributed systems and analyze results
Conduct sponsored research programs and independent research projects involving the application of machine learning and artificial intelligence to signals analysis
Develop algorithms and code to analyze and make predictions from application-specific datasets
Document and present results in appropriate forums
Lead new proposal efforts to acquire sponsored research projects
Lead sponsored research tasks including directing up to three students or researchers
Required Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated Linux command line experience (1+ projects)
Preferred Qualifications
Active TS/SCI Clearance
PhD degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Physics, Public Health or a related discipline
Demonstrate record of publication in machine learning, artificial intelligence, signal processing, or RF systems (1+ publications)
Experience with image/signal processing or functional programming (2+ years)
