Candidate will assist law clerks and attorneys with preparation of legal documents for attorney review and signature to include:Status reports to the courtsPrehearing motionsProposed sanctionsDiscovery requestsSettlement stipulationsCandidate will be assisting attorney teams with trial preparation and onsite trial support. Candidate will conduct legal and factual research; file documents with the court; serve copies on parties. Candidate will be involved in case management to include:Develop timeline for settlement negotiations and discovery/prehearing phases of adjudication.Reviews incoming scheduling order.Regularly updates case list.Coordinates and communicates case information between NRS staff, the client agency, court personnel, and claimants.Compiles claim files, agency materials, public records.Qualifications:Must be able to obtain and maintain MRPT facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for MRPT facility credentials/authorization at this work location.Paralegal certificate or JD or attending ABA accredited law school with at least one year of study.Must have at least two years of experience on litigation support projects including proven capabilities and communication skills to successfully interact with clients and attorneys.Must have trial support experience including both pre-trial preparation with exhibits, demonstratives, witness binders, etc. and onsite trial support.Must be available for travel for trial support.Sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.Excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging.Role also requires hands-on familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.Preferred Qualifications:Prior experience with cases involving water access, rights, boundaries.
