Business Development Senior Director who will focus on driving growth on the West Coast.
You will be responsible for managing a Sales team and all aspects of accounts, both existing and new prospects, to achieve sales growth objectives. The Business Development Director will manage the accounts on both a strategic as well as a tactical basis to maintain and grow existing business as well as foster new business.RESPONSIBILITIESDefines strategy and action plan to grow accounts with the goal of maintaining and developing new business.Deepen relationships multifunctionally, leading outbound sales efforts across multiple brands covered by these clients and providing a full range of one-stop services such as innovations focused on growing their brands, supply chain improvements in collaboration with the sites, value improvement, and exposure to client leadership through top-to-top meetings and other multifunctional leadership exposures.Deploys action planning process with production sites supporting his accounts and supports account team with regular interactions.Identifies new opportunities for growth to continue to strengthen pipeline and identify means to improve win rate with each client.Develop and implement key account strategies to include initiatives such as product line gap analysis, targeted product presentations, and targeted take-away opportunities.Responsible for maintaining current knowledge of customer’s internal strategies, business initiatives, organizational structures, etc.Develop a high performing sales team.Maintain awareness of all emerging and current market trends and industry information in order to share with the customer, foster communication and opportunities, and enhance the company’s image of being well informed.As an extension of market awareness noted above, recommend new product concepts and ideas to the customer.Responsible for vetting all new business opportunities and onboarding the right opportunities to deliver success for the customer and for the company. This includes, but is not limited to, areas of capability, ROI, volume, and timing.Maintain awareness of and report on all relevant competitive information.Maintains liaison with internal departments as required. Assures compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.Attend sales and trade meetings and read related publications to obtain information about market conditions, business trends, and industry development.Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations, and attending trade shows and conferences.Prepare sales presentations and proposals that explain product specifications and applications.Responsible for liaising with General Managers, R&D Leaders, and local site teams across all departments to support business needs.Collaboration with all kdc/one divisions, focusing on integrated solutions (formula + package).Represent the kdc/one global network.Other duties necessitated by the position.QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCEHave a passion for beauty and personal care.Understand the cosmetic industry, key market players, product positioning/functionality, cost structure, pricing, contract negotiation, and general operations knowledge will be keys to success.Experience in skin care, hair care, color cosmetics.Excellent verbal and written communication.Solid presentation skills, capable and relaxed with public speaking.Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills.Strong knowledge of functionality and capabilities of all departments, especially although not limited to Operations.Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.Must be very detail-oriented and have excellent organizational skills.Complete knowledge of all products, services, and policies.EDUCATIONUniversity degree required.EXPERIENCE10 years experience in Sales/Business Development or Project Management, Account Management, Customer Service experience.Beauty experience preferred.KDC-ONE is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, age, sex, gender, disability or any other characteristic protected by law.
