Ohio Means Jobs Cleveland Cuyahoga County is sourcing for a Director of Public Relations position for a non-profit organization. The company is seeking an engaging professional to manage the agency's public relations agenda. The Director of Public Relations is responsible for directing external engagement and relationship management with media, vendors, and community partners, while assisting the Senior Leadership Team with strategies to share the mission and programs of the organization.Responsibilities:
Media Relations:
Build relationships with local and national media outlets; position the organization as a subject matter expert regarding Housing & Shelter, Workforce Development, Guardianship Services, and Youth Resiliency Services.Serve as a spokesperson and primary point of contact for external stakeholders and media.Seek and secure proactive media coverage, and follow up on earned media opportunities/inquiries.Develop and maintain media database, reporter, and media outlet priorities.Write and distribute media releases, collaborating with external partners and internal staff leadership.
Public Relations:
Develop visual storytelling assets (suites of photography and videography).Seek and secure community and speaking/public relations engagements for leadership.Facilitate public tours and walk-throughs of the establishment.Track and manage Speakers Bureau.Develop building signage and ensure proper installation at all LMM sites.Develop merchandise, swag, and other materials to engage external audiences.Oversee inventory of promotional materials and order/reorder materials as needed.Distribute branded materials, merchandise, and department collateral.
Brand Management:
Lead in the continual development, maintenance, and integrity of the brand and corporate identity standards.Provide brand training and oversee implementation of brand standards.Uphold agency's Brand & Communication Standards.
Special Events:
Manage and/or support SLT, Board, and Program Staff in attending external events.Lead planning for agency events.Assist CEO, SLT, and development staff with executing engagement experiences that reflect monthly communications themes and fundraising campaigns.Oversee coordination of activities/project management related to annual agency event(s).Manage event vendors.Oversee event set up, tear down, and follow-ups.
Crisis Communications:
With guidance from the CEO and VP, provide risk management support to all departments and the Senior Leadership Team, as needed.Assist CEO and VP during crisis situations that may create negative perception of the organization.Develop and distribute crisis communications plan and talking points to CEO, CFO, and SLT.
Management & Supervision:
Manage the Communications Manager.Provide performance feedback.Consult with Supervisor and/or Director of HR when necessary.Ensure publications calendar is executed in accordance with the goals, strategies, deadlines, and budget of the Communications Plan.Identify and offer appropriate training and development for Staff, as needed.
Other Job Responsibilities:
Actively participate in quality improvement activities of the department/agency.Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct regarding privacy of staff and client information and adherence to confidentiality policies.Comply with policies and procedures governing the agency and its programs.
