They are working on a Fortinet project supporting cyber defense and response strategies for NYC. Your work will provide a direct, impact to NYC's cyber investigation, defense, response, and policy in coordination with the NYPD and the Office of Emergency Management.**Please note, this role will be fully-onsite for around the first 90 days then pivot to hybrid (3 days in the office and 2 days 100% remote). Brooklyn, NY 11208 **** This role is contract to perm **Key Responsibilities:Design and Implementation:

Develop and implement Fortinet security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security systems, tailored to meet client requirements.Configuration and Maintenance:

Configure and maintain Fortinet devices and services, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability.Security Monitoring and Incident Response:

Monitor security systems, identify potential threats, and respond to security incidents promptly and effectively.Configuration:

Hands-on experience configuring Routers, Switches, Firewalls (Cisco and Fortinet)Networking Equipment:

Knowledge ofCisco xOS, FortiOSClient Support and Troubleshooting:

Provide technical support to clients, resolving issues related to Fortinet products and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain comprehensive documentation of security configurations, changes, and incidents. Generate reports on security metrics and incident responses.Training and Knowledge Sharing:

Conduct training sessions for clients and internal teams on Fortinet products and best practices in network security.Compliance and Best Practices:

Ensure all solutions comply with industry standards and best practices. Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, threats, and Fortinet product updates.Qualifications:Tech Stack: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in network security and Fortinet product implementation and management.Technical Skills:

Proficiency in configuring and managing Fortinet firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, endpoint security, and related technologies.Problem-Solving:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex security issues.Communication:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Team Player:

Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and with clients.Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).BIG PLUS: Certifications

Fortinet NSE 4. NSE 5, NSE 6, or higher certificationsResponsibilities:Collaborate to perform network discovery, design, and planning for new infrastructure, security, and wireless solutions.Prepare for network implementation, perform equipment software upgrades, and execute staging of solutions.Create configurations for implementation and perform hands-on device configuration.Perform physical installation of network, security, wireless, and system equipment.Coordinate, gain approval for, and perform activation and change work in production environments.Analyze, troubleshoot, evaluate, and repair existing networks, including the coordination or repairs and exchanges of defective devices.Perform routing network maintenance including software upgrades and fulfilling move- add-change requests.Create design, implementation, and as-built documentation including diagrams, summary information, and configuration information.
