Network & Telephony Engineer

II with expertise in RingCentral, a leading cloud communications and collaboration platform, along with additional networking experience. As your primary role of a Telephony Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, configuration, and maintenance of RingCentral's telephony solutions. You will work closely with our internal teams to ensure seamless integration of RingCentral into our communication infrastructure, as well as provide ongoing support to optimize the performance and reliability of our telephony systems.Additionally, as a Network Engineer, you will help support our networking framework and move us toward a resilient, robust, and secure network across all our locations. We’re looking for a person who has knowledge of current best-practices regarding security, network design, cloud integration, telephony, audio-visual, and the positive energy to ensure we further our platforms.You will be helping to support our entire enterprise, as well as software engineering teams, security, and other technology functions as we build the next wave of technologies that will drive our resident experience to the next level.Essential Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement telephony solutions using RingCentral, based on business requirements and best practices.Configure and customize RingCentral features, including call routing, IVR menus, call queues, voicemail, and call forwarding, to meet the organization's needs.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate RingCentral with other business systems, such as CRM, helpdesk, and collaboration tools.Perform system administration tasks, including user provisioning, system upgrades, and troubleshooting.Monitor and analyze telephony system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations for call quality, reliability, and scalability.Conduct regular audits and assessments of RingCentral configurations to ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements.Provide end-user support and training on RingCentral features and functionality.Stay updated on the latest trends, features, and enhancements in the RingCentral platform and recommend improvements or new capabilities to enhance business communication.Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and internal teams to resolve telephony-related issues and escalate to higher-level support if necessary.Design and implement complex nationwide networks (WAN, LAN, VPC, VLAN)Documentation of all networks, including diagrams, and run booksTroubleshoot complex network issues including site to site, and site to cloud instancesProvide 24x7 support for critical production systemsPerform scheduled maintenance and equipment KLO, sometimes after hoursKeep apprised of current licensing and contracts regarding network equipmentMaintain inventory and asset configuration documentationSet standards for enterprise AV equipment, including installation and trainingParticipate in any audits and have germane information ready and properly documentedWork with networking vendor to ensure security and configuration of networksEducation and/or ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in relevant field, or equivalent work experience5+ years in network engineering and telephony system managementExtensive knowledge in RingCentral telephonyStrong knowledge in network engineering, Fortinet experience preferredSeasoned in audio video standards and hardware, Zoom and Poly preferredDeep understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF)SDWAN expertiseComprehensive knowledge and experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, etc.)Transit gateway experienceAWS VPC configuration and managementIn-depth knowledge of endpoint security and best practicesIntrusion detection experience and configurationSkills/Specialized KnowledgeProven experience as a RingCentral Telephony EngineerStrong knowledge of telephony protocols and technologies, including SIP, RTP, VoIP, and PSTNProficiency in configuring and troubleshooting IP telephony systems, gateways, and SIP trunkingExperience with telephony integrations, including CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), helpdesk platforms, and collaboration toolsFamiliarity with network concepts and protocols, such as LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, and VPNInstalling, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCPAWS VPC configuration and managementKnowledge of subnetting, NAT and creating VLANsKnowledge with firewalls best-practices, configuring, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and securityBackground in network administrationRequired Licenses or CertificationsRing Central Admin certification preferredFortinet NSE 4 certification preferredOther Requirements25%-50% travel requiredPrior experience in similar roles within a mid to large-sized organizationData-driven and outcome-orientedSelf-drivenDemonstrated analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and provide support to end-usersAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneouslyMust maintain professional appearance.Ability to be at work on a regular and consistent basis; overtime may be required for this positionPhysical and Mental DemandsThis position will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers.
