Are you interested in innovating to help deliver Amazon Time & Pay (ATP) systems which deliver a world-class level of service to support hundreds of thousands of your fellow Amazonians working in our Fulfillment Centers, Logistics and Delivery, Customer Service and Data Centers; employees in our growing number of Amazon Books and Go Stores and more. We are looking for a talented Business Intelligence Engineer to help build the data infrastructure as a critical component of ATP systems which impacts hundreds of thousands of Amazons hourly associates and all tech/BI teams which support these businesses across the globe. You will own generating insights and setting up BI processes from many large datasets and data pipelines (owned by our data engineering team) that feed into or from critical data systems at Amazon, and your insights will impact decisions on design and implementation of products for mission-critical use cases every day. You will work with engineers, product managers and business and tech leadership on a variety of projects with impact that spans the length and breadth of Amazon globally.

Key job responsibilities
- Own the design, development, and management of scalable solutions for ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to support business needs. Perform variance analyses and identify risks and opportunities.
- Develop queries and visualizations for ad-hoc requests and projects, as well as ongoing reporting. Specifically, own all SQL, Redshift, Quicksight, Tableau functions ad hoc, recurring, and trouble-shooting.
- Building models, dashboards and BI tools for real-time reporting and large-scale offline use cases. Providing self-service tooling that supports both basic metrics reporting and some simple drill downs.
- Create persistent and scalable metrics to provide business insights into the product development function.
- You will work closely with Product Managers, Data Engineers and software engineering teams to drive implementations of solutions
- Provide data management processes such as accessing raw data feeds, building queries and macros, writing VBA code, organizing data and designing reports that present status-at-a-glance visualization for business performance.
- Retrieving and analyzing large sets of data using Excel, SQL, and other data management systems.
- Building and managing related key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure, control, and benchmark reporting processes.
- Monitoring existent metrics, building new metrics, and partnering with internal teams to identify process and system improvement opportunities.
- Generating complex queries to dive deep on process issues.

Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
