Software Asset ManagerLocation:

Overland Park, KS (Hybrid)Job Summary:As a Software Asset Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing global software assets. This role requires a deep understanding of software licensing models, IT Asset Management (ITAM) best practices, and compliance regulations. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that the company's software usage aligns with licensing standards and optimizing software assets for efficiency.Key Responsibilities:Software Asset Management: Monitor and maintain compliance with software standards, licenses, terms and conditions, and optimization.Analyze software requests and recommend appropriate licensing models based on industry trends and roadmaps.Ensure effective license positions and adherence to vendor terms and conditions.Identify and implement opportunities for license reclamation and optimization.Automate the collection of software information to streamline processes and provide focused reporting.Review and approve software license requests to determine if new licensing is required.Collaborate with business representatives to understand licensing models and usage.Generate reports and validate user information related to software contract renewals.Analyze software usage trends to determine maintenance and support requirements.Support external software audit activities, including readiness assessments, vendor coordination, data analysis, remediation, and communication.Maintain a software asset database to track entitlements, allocations, and contract details.Qualifications:5+ years of experience in software asset management.Certifications in SAM, ITAM, ITIL, or ITSM preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, ServiceNow Asset & SAM Pro, and software industry nomenclature.Strong understanding of software asset management best practices and commercial terms and conditions.Higher education (university/college degree) preferred.Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, etc.).Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.Skills:ProcurementAuditData AnalysisDatabaseIT ProcurementSupport ProgramMaintenanceRemediationServiceNowIT Service ManagementMarketing AnalysisCollectionAsset ManagementITILIT Infrastructure LibrarySoftware Asset ManagementMinimum Education:Completed High School (Diploma or GED)
