Job Description & ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for a Staff Accountant with experience in maintaining a general ledger including processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general journals. The ideal candidate is organized with proven experience in maintaining records and posting transactions in a timely manner. This position requires attention to detail, problem solving and team working competencies.Position Responsibilities
Performing general accounts payable functions including checking, verifying, and processing invoices, entering accounts payable data, and maintaining vendor filesUtilizestrong analytical skills to ensure payments are posted to correct ledger accountsPerforming general accounts receivable functions including the preparation of customer invoices, receiving, and posting payments as well as the maintenance customer filesPerform bank and credit card reconciliation, matching transactions to expense accountsPreparing, examining, and analyzingaccounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standardsPerforming general journal entry adjustments at month end; including revenue, fixed assets, accruals, prepaids, payroll and other accounting areasPerforming Balance Sheet Account reconciliations monthly to ensure account balances are correctly statedDeveloping and adhering to strong internal control structure and proceduresDraft recommendations for new and necessary controls for review by the Accounting Leadership and Controller.Assuming responsibility for inventory accounting including valuation, reconciliation and all accounting entries and adjustmentsPerforming compliance review and processing of expense reportsProvidingrecommendations for Accounting Policies & Procedures updates as neededModifying and documenting accounting procedures for understanding, backup, and cross trainingHandling all company-related matters with strict confidentialityHandling ad-hoc project requests to analyze financial information and find cost reduction opportunities
Job Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related2 years of bookkeeping experience or relatedExperience in Accounts Receivable/Accounts PayableExperience in Public Accounting preferredExperience with ERP systemsProficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and ExcelMust have a United States Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a United States Security Clearance
Total compensation for this role can vary from $65, 000 to $80, 000 a year based on individual qualifications. Eligibility for yearly discretionary bonus.
