Job Description
Seeking an experienced IT systems administrator to support classified lab environments that use Linux and Windows networked systems, with expertise in setting up and managing Windows Servers and Workstations including experience in setting up and managing Microsoft Windows Active Directory, Group Policy Management, and Exchange services.
A successful candidate will be a Windows Server lead joining a team supporting internal customers, designing, implementing and managing lab infrastructure to meet the customer requirements.In this Senior Systems Administrator role, you will make impacts in the following ways;
Work with facilities security staff to develop and apply hardening steps for systems for classified use to NISPOM Chapter 8, JAFAN, and other customer standards.Document system configuration for new and existing systems. Experience with centralized authentication technologies such as LDAP and Active Directory domains in supporting (Windows/Linux) cross-platform clients is desirable.Proactively maintain and develop all Linux infrastructure technology to maintain a 24x7x365 uptime service.Engineering of systems administration-related solutions for various project and operational needsMaintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments.Fault finding, analysis and of logging information for reporting of performance exceptions.Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planningManage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers, workstations, and network hardware.Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks.Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment.Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes.Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Candidates must have an active Secret Clearance.High School Diploma and 6 years of experience or Associate’s Degree and 4 years of experience or Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years’ experience8+ years of experience in enterprise level Linux and/or Windows Server operating environments, including Windows Active Directory, Group Policy Management, SharePoint, Exchange services- TCP/IP and Microsoft Networking concepts- Windows and Unix/Linux interoperability services (e.g. centralized authentication technologies for cross-platform clients)- Windows shell scripting and Linux bash a plusMust be able to lift to 20 pounds and move into positions either standing or kneeling that require connecting computing equipment up for use.Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills :- Virtual machine (VM) technologies (ESXi, VCenter, VSphere)- NetApp Management- PXE and WDS automated system installation technologies- Automated backup systems- Red Hat Enterprise Linux- Unix shell scripting- Configuration management tools (Subversion, ClearCase) a plus- CompTIA Security+ certification- CISSP certification a plus
Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $80040 - $136080
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
