Electrical Testing Team Supervisor
Location: Greenwood Village, CO
CLP Engineering (CLPE) is seeking an experienced
Electrical Testing Team Supervisor
for a newly created career position based out of our Greenwood Village, CO corporate location.
CLPE is a full-service electric utility solutions engineering firm with more than twenty years' experience in electrical utility system ownership, upgrades, maintenance and operations through our sister company, City Light & Power. CLPE offers a wide range of power system engineering services to investor-owned, municipal, cooperative, government, industrial, and commercial customers.
If you're NETA Level 4 certified with 5+ years of testing experience, this job is for you! The
Supervisor
will help establish office/shop, hire Testers, establish the training program, test schedule/plans, and field activity plans for the Company's utility privatization operations across the country.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Hire, mentor, train, and supervise Level 1, 2, and 3 certified NETA Technicians.Develop and manage testing plans and procedures for all low, medium, and high-voltage electrical systems and apparatus in accordance with NETA, NFPA 70B, and manufacturers' recommendations and regulatory laws.Develop specialized test solutions, tooling, and fixtures to meet Customer and/or Engineering requirements.Travel to Company sites to inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start-up and collect data on substation and electrical systems.Manage and execute commissioning tests and startup services.Establish and maintain adequate test equipment, tools, and material inventories to perform all the electrical test activities including routine maintenance tests, commissioning test, and other emergency troubleshooting and repair activities.Maintain, test, & repair low, medium, and high-voltage switchgear and circuit breakers.Troubleshoot and test automatic transfer switches.Test and inspect low, medium, and high-voltage cable installations.Maintain, test, and repair transformers and related equipment.Test and calibrate digital, solid-state and electromechanical relays.Perform calibration on relay and power metering.Conduct low and medium-voltage motor control center and contractor testing.Start-up, troubleshoot, and repair generator controls and transfer schemes.Test and commission protection and control systems on high voltage substations.Assist in the sales process acting as the technical expert in electrical testing and maintenance of electrical equipment.*Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Skills and Qualifications:
Level 4 NETA (National Electrical Testing Association) Certification required.Minimum of five (5+) years of related electrical testing work experience.Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred, but not required.Experienced using test equipment common for low, medium, and high-voltage electrical apparatus testing.Strong background and experience in all types of switchgear testing through the 15-kV class required.Excellent theoretical understanding of electrical power systems.Ability to read and interpret schematics, electrical diagrams, and blueprints.Demonstrated ability to create detailed test procedures.Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Must have good hands on mechanical and electrical engineering skills.Computer skills required include editing, formatting, and using templates in Microsoft products, ability to research standards/products/manufacturers, and operation of computer-controlled test equipment.Travel:
40-50% travel required. Schedule is dependent upon project work and is flexible to the degree it can be.Work Authorization/Security Clearance:
You must be a US Citizen.You will be required to obtain Military Base Access Security Clearance.A valid driver's license with a record that meets the CLP Fleet Policy is required.Benefits & Compensation:
We offer an excellent benefits package that includes medical insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, 401k with company contribution, paid time off and paid holidays.Salary range: $110,000-$150,000 based on experience plus eligible to participate in Short Term Incentive Plan.
