Cost Analyst (Entry Level)

Location: Greater Orlando, FL

Position Overview: We are seeking an entry-level Cost Analyst with a background in construction project costing to join our team. This role is crucial for supporting financial and project management operations, focusing on cost coding, budget tracking, and managing change orders through contracts. Ideal candidates are early in their careers, technically skilled, and eager to develop their expertise in construction financial analysis. The Cost Analyst will report to the Project Accountant and work collaboratively with multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Coding: Accurately code project costs, maintaining compliance with accounting and project standards.
  • Budget Assistance: Support the development and monitoring of project budgets, helping to track expenses and stay within financial guidelines.
  • Change Order Management: Process change orders through contracts, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Data Entry & Reporting: Assist in data entry and preparation of cost reports, analyzing financial data to highlight project costs and variances.
  • Document Management: Organize and maintain financial documents, ensuring accuracy and adherence to compliance standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Provide financial support to project teams, sharing insights that help keep projects on track and within budget.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Engineering Math.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in construction, cost analysis, or project budgeting. Familiarity with construction project costing is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, formulas); knowledge of Microsoft VBA/Macros is preferred.
  • Attributes: Self-motivated, growth-oriented, and a problem-solver. Must be adaptable and eager to learn in a structured environment.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with flexible start times. This role requires in-person work.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $60,000 to $70,000 annually
  • Bonus Eligibility: Up to $2,000 in the first year, based on performance
  • Benefits Package: Includes medical, dental, and vacation benefits, 401(k) plan, and potential stock options/profit-sharing opportunities.
