Job Responsibilities
As a Senior Accountant/Consultant, you will prepare and analyze financial results and reports, ensure compliance with regulatory guidance, increase financial accuracy and internal controls, improve and document processes, and provide critical technical guidance and advice to senior client management representatives. This senior role will also involve providing direction and coaching to junior staff and new hires.
Senior Accountant/Consultant responsibilities:Review and develop financial management processesDevelop recommendations and solutions to improve operational efficienciesAnalyze financial data and identify and resolve anomalies and errorsPrepare reconciliations and correct and explain differencesDraft and update policies and proceduresSupport and execute quality assurance activitiesReview and provide guidance on new or modified financial management standards and requirementsPrepare, review, and submit financial reports, documents, transactions with audit defensible supporting documentationPrepare briefing, dashboards, and reports supporting trend analysis, data driven decision making, and data accuracy improvement initiativesBrief, advise and provide technical guidance and advice on complex financial management, audit and internal control mattersSenior Accountant/Consultant requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or another business-related degree with a minimum of 24 credit hours in accounting5+ years of experience with 2+ years of government experienceAbility to work well in a team environmentFast learner with willingness to learn new tasks and business functionsProficient in the use of the MS Office suite; specifically, Excel, Word, and PowerPointFederal Accounting experience is preferred, but general government experience is requiredCPA candidate and/or CGFM preferredAbility to occasionally work extra hours to meet deadlinesAbility to pass a federal background check and/or federal security clearance, which may include U.S. Citizenship requirement for some client engagements.Benefits
