**Job Title:** Registered Nurse**Job Specialty:** Intensive Care Unit (ICU)/Coronary Care Unit (CCU)**Job Duration:** 13 weeks**Shift:** Night Shifts (3x12-Hour, 19:00 - 07:30)**Guaranteed Hours:****Experience:** Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required**License:** Active Illinois license required or be in the application process**Certifications:** Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale**Must-Have:**- Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and emergency response- Skills in the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias- Experience with multi-system organ failure- IV insulin protocols experience- Experience in the management of chronic and acute renal failure
**Job Description:**
- Work in a 4-bed ICU unit with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio- Required skills in arterial line management, blood product administration, central and PICC line care, and starting IVs- Experience in administering continuous IV paralytics, neuromuscular blockade, continuous IV sedation, titration of cardiac drips, and vasoactive drips- Assist in the management of BiPAP, CPAP, chest tube insertion and removal, and care of ventilated patients- Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and perform suctioning (endotracheal and nasotracheal)- Manage patients on high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC)- Implement infection prevention, isolation precautions, and use of PPE- Care for surgical wounds with drains or wound vac- Experience with ventilator management is essential- Chart using Cerner system; prior experience preferred- Work every other weekend; open to scheduling requests and floating within scope to meet facility needs- Comply with flu vaccination requirements; exceptions allowed for medical or religious reasons
