The position has primary responsibility for leading and coordinating the activities of the departments in the processing, packaging, quality, sanitation and storage including providing direction, training and facilitation on high-speed production lines and off-line scheduled work. This is a production floor position (exempt position).
Hours: 9:30 pm-6:30 amWhat We Need:Leadership with Flavor : As the Shift Manager, you'll oversee the overnight team, ensuring production targets are met, quality standards are upheld, and safety remains a top priority.Efficiency Expert : You'll be responsible for ensuring that beverage production runs smoothly, from managing workflows to troubleshooting equipment issues, all while keeping an eye on maximizing efficiency.Problem-Solving Pro : Be the go-to problem-solver on shift, taking quick action to resolve any challenges and ensuring a seamless operation throughout the night.Safety & Compliance Champion : In a beverage production environment, safety is key! You'll enforce safety standards and maintain quality control to keep both your team and our products in top condition.Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of the 3rd shift beverage production, ensuring the team meets production quotas and quality standards.Manage a diverse team of operators, technicians, and support staff, keeping morale high and productivity even higher.Troubleshoot production equipment and process issues in real-time to minimize downtime.Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and sanitation regulations in every aspect of production.Conduct shift handovers to ensure smooth transitions between teams and continuity in production goals.Implement and drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline operations.Responsible for enforcing safety and quality standards, good manufacturing practices (GMP's) and adherence to job specifications.Conducts position interviews for new hires and promotions and advises the Senior Director of Operations on recommendations for job offers and all recommendations for job status revisions.Conducts disciplinary and potential termination documentation and forward with a recommendation to Senior Director of Operations and Human Resources for final review.Ensure proper PPE is utilized, as well as forklift compliance with all personnel.Responsible for reading, comprehending, and explaining job standards, packaging requirements, and implementing the quality standards and specifications for products production leads and production employees.Coordinate lab or blending issues with the Quality Manager.Train, motivate, direct, and assist production line and off-line workers to carry out duties and responsibilities in a safe, standardized, effective and efficient manner (complete production crewing Schedule for all departments and post weekly).Coordinate manpower to production schedules and communicate all requirements for labor to the Senior Director of Operations.Assist in line changeovers and verification of the change-over and inspecting the production line for proper setup to ensure everything is set up correctly (processing system, detectors, injectors, coders, etc.) as scheduled.Able to quickly troubleshoot and correct issues, resolve and document (personnel, equipment, processing issues, etc.).Follow all customer standards/specifications, quality requirements and Federal, State and Local regulations.Monitor and assist in equipment for proper operation and report issues to the Senior Director of Operations and on documentation on appropriate records (work request and daily reports) and completing production as scheduled for the day.Review and analyze production records to identify opportunities for improvement, proper completion, and accuracy.Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of work areas throughout shift and at end of shift.Assist with 90 day and annual performance reviews of production employees and forward to the Senior Director of Operations for final input and approval.Ensure that proper containers with lids are to be utilized on production lines as well as the removal of full containers at end of shift (rejected cans, can end sleeves, etc.).Make recommendations for long-term solutions, including recommendations for replacing equipment, refurbishing equipment, procedural changes and SOPs, productivity improvement, material changes, etc.Meet the productivity, quality, safety, health, environmental goals established for the facility.required to spend approximately 98% of the time on the plant floor.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by leadership.Requirements
What you Bring:
Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing or production setting (bonus if it's in beverage or food manufacturing!).Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to keep production on track.A proven ability to manage and motivate a team to hit targets while maintaining high morale.A commitment to following safety guidelines and ensuring top-notch quality control.Excellent communication skills to coordinate across shifts and teams.High school diploma or equivalent with industry-relevant food and beverage experience in production management (minimum 3 years supervisory experience and minimum 3-5 years of previous manufacturing experience in the food and/or beverage industry) preferred, or equivalent combination of experience and education.Mechanical aptitude.Proficiency in MS Office suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook.Strong understanding of Good Mfg. Practices, HACCP, etc. in a food manufacturing environment.Ability to calculate daily production metrics including the number of cases completed and other basic match functions as necessary.FESMA, PCQI and Management System knowledge preferred.Must be able to work nights and weekends if necessary.Demonstrate effective leadership through the ability to effectively provide conflict management, demonstrate adaptability and teamwork, develop employees and self, organize, plan and delegate when appropriate to meet business goals and objectives.Provide continuous improvement through problem-solving.Better Process certification required or willingness to get it.Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (frequent physical exertions, including twisting, standing, sitting, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and climbing) and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: viewing a computer terminal; reading electrical drawings; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measuring.Ability to work in various conditions with exposure to extreme heat, cold, dust and fumes.Benefits:
