The Weld Process Technician works closely with the Weld, Manufacturing and Engineering to optimize and improve the safety, quality, and efficiency of current welding processes. Reports through Area Lead to Manufacturing Supervisor.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
include the following:
Continually analyze weld processes for opportunities to improve safety, quality and productivity through training, manufacturing and design updates. Document and provide feedback to each internal supplier.
Implement and maintain weld process sheets for each Item to document standards and procedures. Including fixture details and productivity rate.
Develop and maintain weld team skill matrix. Safety, Quality and Productivity.
Develop training criteria to support skill matrix.
Trian weld team to fulfill the skill matrix.
Implement the use of Laser welding in production welding process
Develop weld fixture processes and standards to support APC quality standards.
Prepare fixtures and first off for each item ahead of weld schedule requirements.
Develop Preventative Maintenance program for weld equipment and tools. Track and administer.
Collaborate with weld supplier/vendor to stay current weld industry evolution.
Collaborate with APC Automation Engineer for weld automation projects.
Requirements
:
5+ Years experience TIG Welding required
Laser welding experience preferred
Weld fixturing experience preferred
Weld process improvement preferred
Weld safety improvement preferred
Technical expertise in Welding practice required
Production custom welding required.
Education:
High School graduate or GED.
Welding trade school experience preferred.
Any engineering experience and training a plus
