We have the following position at the Riverside Hauling division:
DISPATCHER
Responds to incoming radio calls made by drivers and dispatches calls through proper channels.

DISPATCHER
Responds to incoming radio calls made by drivers and dispatches calls through proper channels.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Maintain communication with the Drivers in the field to ensure quality customer service.
- Communicate with Route Supervisor regarding Driver or Dispatch problems.
- Assure that all daily activities and assignments are completed on a timely and or a scheduled basis.
- Work closely with Customer Service Call Center to resolve issues and ensure quality customer service.
- Assist Drivers with any questions regarding service or work orders.
- Responsible for dispatching calls through proper channels.
- Dispatch roll offs and service calls as defined by work orders.
- Contact customers regarding problems in servicing the account.
- Update and maintain front sheets.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Handle incoming service orders, directs drivers, and resolves service issues.
- Work with route managers and the service department to optimize routes.
- Dispatch drivers to calls as they are received, using information on customer needs, drivers' locations and loads, and daily factors to balance cost and speed of response.
- Field incoming calls from customers or customer service department, managing requests for pick-up or container delivery and ensuring same-day service.
- Initiate outbound calls to customers while drivers are on-site/location, resolving pick-up and other issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolves potential delivery and pick-up problems before they result in service issues.
- Ensure same-day service on missed pick-ups by coordinating driver movement in the field.
- Assist in determining daily level of driver staffing to provide best mix of responsiveness and productivity.
- Identify and plans deployment for increases/decreases in route volumes, shifting resources in response to seasonal and other fluctuations.
- Record and documents information and distributes to appropriate departments, including: route information, driver productivity information, sales and service issues and opportunities, safety issues, and problem stops.
- Ensure accuracy and thoroughness of pick-up, container delivery, service, and driver records.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English is required, and Spanish communication is a plus.
- Ability to effectively interface with drivers and customers.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Two years' experience as a dispatcher, required.
- Waste Industry, preferred
- Standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods of time - up to 8 hours or more per day
- Manual dexterity and vision sufficient to operate a personal computer for long periods of time without experiencing abnormal hand, wrist or eye strain.
- Hearing sufficient to understand conversations, both in person and on the telephone.
- Work area is primarily in an office setting and may have fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
