Responsibilities
Under the minimal direction, the IT Director will be responsible for overseeing all technology operations and ensuring that they align with the hospital’s strategic objectives. This role will manage IT staff, collaborate with clinical departments, maintain electronic health record (EHR) systems, and implement technology solutions to improve patient care, operational efficiency, and data security. The IT Director will also ensure that the hospital complies with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and industry standards for data protection and management.
This position requires the ability to independently identify and fulfill responsibilities with minimal oversight, especially on critical matters. The role frequently involves exercising discretion and independent judgment, evaluating different options, and making informed decisions. The position is expected to effectively prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and ensure deadlines are consistently met.
Position will support multiple locations.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
Required qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
· 5 years of experience in IT management, with at least 3 years in a healthcare environment.
· Proven experience managing IT teams, healthcare IT systems (e.g., EHR, PACS, LIS), and hospital infrastructure.
· Familiarity with HIPAA compliance, healthcare regulations, and information security best practices.
· Experience with budgeting, contract negotiations, and vendor management in a healthcare setting.
· Strong knowledge of hospital IT systems, including EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Meditech, Cerner).
· Familiarity with network administration, cloud services, cybersecurity, and server management.
· Excellent leadership and team management skills.
· Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
· Understands hospital business operations and structure, general requirements in an integrated delivery system, and use of IT applications in the practicing healthcare environment.
· Open to travel when required.
Preferred qualifications:
Master’s degree in IT, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration.Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
