Naumann/Hobbs is looking for YOU to fill our Apprentice Forklift Technician position in the Phoenix, AZ area. Program starts Monday August 12th or 13th not accepting after those dates, 2 seats left

The Apprentice Forklift Technician will be trained in maintaining and repairing forklift equipment for a variety of clients. Also, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, complete preventative maintenance, repair brakes and suspension, etc. This position is performed in a shop environment at the company location or a customer's shop location. It cannot be performed remotely.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Apprentice Technician:
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Ability to keep work area clean and organized.
  • Ability to follow instructions and take direction.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Will adhere to all applicable safety policies.
  • Will comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Has basic mechanical aptitude and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively.
  • Can communicate daily activities with training technicians and senior technicians to ensure progress toward your goals.
  • UTI graduate a plus or any technical school.
Competencies Skills and Abilities:
  • Mechanical and Electrical troubleshooting.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a clean motor vehicle record plus the ability to drive multiple hours daily.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Supply own mechanic technician hand tools.
  • Ability to read and understand necessary service and training manuals.
  • Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  • Ability to maintain a good understanding of industry innovations and product availability to make recommendations based on customer need.
  • Ability to effectively utilize volt, ohm and multi-meters.
  • Ability to use stick and/or MIG welder for installation and repair of dock and door equipment.
  • Ability to safely operate drills, grinders, presses, forklifts, hoists, overhead cranes, and personal hand tools.
  • Such other knowledge, skills, and abilities as are necessary in connection with additionally assigned duties.
  • Familiarity with PC (laptop/iPad) applications to diagnose equipment issues.
Education and Experience:
  • Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Maintain current driver's license.
  • Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
