About the role.
PURE is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Networking Engineer to serve as a pivotal technical leader in the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex local, wide area, and cloud networking solutions. This role is essential in ensuring the robustness and security of our extensive network infrastructure, which spans 11 offices across the United States and one office in Canada. Our environment leverages AWS and Azure for datacenter services, requiring expertise in hybrid networking.
As a Senior Networking Engineer, you will collaborate closely with our security team, third-party contractors, and vendors to uphold a secure and efficient network that integrates on-premises infrastructure with cloud-based solutions. You will also provide strategic guidance and best practice networking solutions to application developers, data operations teams, and system administrators. This role demands advanced troubleshooting capabilities, in-depth knowledge of networking technologies and cloud platforms, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives

The base salary for this role can range from $115k-$135k, based on a full-time work schedule. An individual's ultimate compensation will vary depending on job-related skills and experience, geographic location, alignment with market data, and equity among other team members with comparable experience.

What you'll do.
- Architect and Lead Networking Solutions: Drive the design, architecture, and implementation of sophisticated networking and cloud networking initiatives, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
- Advanced Troubleshooting and Support: Serve as the Tier 4 escalation point for complex network-related incidents, utilizing your deep technical expertise to resolve issues promptly and effectively.
- Collaborate on Network Design: Work closely with project teams to design and deploy complex networking solutions that align with business needs and technical requirements.
- Cloud Networking Management: Design, manage, and optimize cloud networking services across AWS and Azure environments, including VPCs, subnets, load balancers, and VPNs.
- Network Device Configuration: Configure and manage a variety of network devices, including Cisco routers and switches, Netskope security solutions, and Palo Alto firewalls, to ensure optimal network performance and security.
- Wireless Technology Management: Oversee the configuration, management, and troubleshooting of wireless technologies, particularly those from Cisco and Extreme Networks.
- Change Management: Create, review, and approve change requests, ensuring strict adherence to PURE's change management protocols to minimize disruption and maintain network stability.
- Network Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor and analyze network performance, producing detailed reports and actionable recommendations for improvements.
- Documentation and Technical Specifications: Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including detailed diagrams and technical specifications, to support ongoing operations and future projects.
- Security Best Practices: Identify and implement industry-leading network security practices, working closely with the security team to enforce policies and protect the network from threats.
- On-Call Support: Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, providing expert support to maintain network availability and performance.
What we're looking for.
- Extensive Networking Expertise: A minimum of 7 years of experience in network design, architecture, and advanced troubleshooting, with a strong background in Cisco IOS and Palo Alto PAN-OS.
- Cloud Networking Proficiency: Hands-on experience with cloud networking services and architectures within AWS and Azure, including VPCs, subnets, load balancers, and VPNs.
- Network Monitoring Tools: Proven experience in managing and maintaining network monitoring tools such as AppDynamics and LogicMonitor.
- Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Exceptional ability to diagnose and resolve complex networking issues, with a strong analytical mindset.
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: Industry-recognized certifications such as CCNP, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, Azure Network Engineer Associate, or Wireshark Certified Network Analyst.
- Wireless Networking Experience: Familiarity with wireless networking technologies, particularly those from Cisco and Extreme Networks, is highly desirable.
