Leidos Mechanical Manufacturing Operations are growing rapidly and has immediate need for a flexible Manufacturing Project Manager particularly skilled in managing multiple projects and project stakeholder interests.
The ideal candidate will have direct experience in project management, cost accounting, Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and in a manufacturing environment. The position requires technical understanding of various machining & welding manufacturing processes necessary to produce the highest levels of industry, military, and space levels of quality assurance.
The Mechanical Manufacturing products are complex machined & welded components made of various alloys (hard metals & aluminum). The Manufacturing Project Manager (MPM) supports the Mechanical Manufacturing organization in the proposal development and execution phases of the manufacture of these complex components for various DoD, intelligence and commercial customers.
The MPM works within a matrix organization and is responsible to coordinate the necessary resources with various manufacturing Leaders & Program Managers to ensure the program executes to customer expectations, and documented execution plans for cost and schedule. Resource requirements for each program include direct participation from matrix functions such as Material Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Control, Inventory Control, NC Programming, and Weld Engineering. The MPM will be responsible for all associated tasks, costs, schedule, status reporting, leading constraint resolution, estimates to completion (ETC) development, and scope of work monitoring. Project environments are fast paced and quickly changing due to a variety of influences.
The MPM in this position is responsible for a variety of potentially diverse projects and programs with different customers and varied scopes of work. The MPM must be able to interpret, understand, and manage customer intent and be an effective liaison between our design and manufacturing teams in the fulfilment of designs optimized for
manufacturability.

Pay Range: Pay Range $68,900.00 - $124,550.00

Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Operational Leaders on the assigned projects to meet established business KPI's and contractual requirements.
- Direct point of contact and support of internal/external customers and Program Management team members to define manufacturing requirements and plans.
- Provide input to processes, standards, and operational plans to implement organizational strategies.
- Provide regular status of the Manufactured parts to the Program managers & Customers.
- Manage all program required deliverables to on-time delivery at required quality levels.
- Provide regular program status updates and reports to customers and organizational managers.
- Calculate labor and material estimates-to-completion (ETC) on a regular basis.
- Develop Variance analysis on EAC & recovery plans as needed.
- Support development of labor and material estimates for new business opportunities.
- Develop & status schedule & plans in MS Project.
- Serve as a liaison between Operations, Customers & Program Management.
Basic Qualifications
- BA degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience in project or program management.
- Ability to multi-task, interact, and succeed with multiple customers and stakeholders with varying expectations and requirements.
- Manage and organize complicated and diverse scopes of work to ensure successful program execution.
- Demonstrable and extensive experience with MS Office tools (Excel, project, PowerPoint, word).
- Experience in development of ETC/EAC, variance analysis, recovery plans.
- Good written & verbal communication skills.
- Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to articulate messages, ideas, and information effectively whether speaking in public, to groups, and develop written electronic media and/or presentations is a big plus.
- Engineering or Technical Degree is a plus.
- Hands-on technical experience with Product Life Management (e.g., AGILE), Configuration Management, and Enterprise Resource database management systems (e.g., Costpoint), interface tools, and reporting.
