Job Description :
Opening / Selling Statement -
The Lead Engineer, IT builds and maintains our data pipelines. They utilize modern data warehouse modeling and tools, particularly Talend, Azure data warehouse, and SQL. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have SQL Server or Azure SQL and Azure Cloud experience. The Lead Engineer, IT will report to the Manager of Business Intelligence and works closely with other IT staff, business users, and the Applications Development team to deliver business tools.
Required Skills -Data Warehouse; Data Modeling; SQL; Azure
Job Duties -- Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using Talend, SQL, Python, and other tools
- Work autonomously while still delivering expected results
- Analyze and reverse engineer existing solutions when required, and re-develop using industry-standard best practices
- Write and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures for data transformation and analysis
- Work with Azure cloud services such as Azure SQL Database to design and implement modern data warehouse architectures
- Collaborate with data analysts and business users to understand data requirements and assist in data modeling
- Ensure the quality and integrity of data through testing and debugging of ETL processes
- Document ETL processes and maintain EDW documentation
- Validate ETL jobs are working as intended prior to releasing to the business for use
- Resolve user support issues for BI pipelines via Orchid's ticketing system
- Stay informed on data technology trends and provide recommendations for future actions
- Serve as a technology liaison and provide expert evaluation regarding potential external data tools and applications for consideration
- Travel occasionally to Orchid locations as necessary.
- Participate in after-hours support for the production environment, including on-call support. This will include supporting upgrades or troubleshooting activities that must take place outside business hours.
- Maintain and review security policies
