Job Description
As the Plant Financial Controller, you will be responsible for managing the accounting, reporting, and forecasting for the Rochester Factory and the US Sales entity. This includes the preparation of monthly management accounts, forecasts, budgets, and annual statutory accounts. You will also ensure that adequate controls are in place and that corporate governance measures are correctly implemented and monitored. This role oversees a team of 12.
In addition, you will serve as the financial partner to the US Country Leader and the Rochester Plant Manager, providing relevant financial insights and information to support the achievement of forecasted goals and growth objectives.

Job Description
As the Plant Financial Controller, you will be responsible for managing the accounting, reporting, and forecasting for the Rochester Factory and the US Sales entity. This includes the preparation of monthly management accounts, forecasts, budgets, and annual statutory accounts. You will also ensure that adequate controls are in place and that corporate governance measures are correctly implemented and monitored. This role oversees a team of 12.

Accounting & Reporting:
- Prepare and produce monthly management accounts in accordance with Group policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to deadlines.
- Review, interpret, and challenge financial results, highlighting any issues to both direct and indirect reporting lines. Investigate variances and support business leaders in implementing corrective actions.
- Monitor and analyze inventory levels, collaborating with the operations team to understand the drivers behind inventory movements.
- Evaluate and challenge strategic assumptions, ensuring transparency of costs and financial impacts on the organization.
- Support and contribute to cost improvement initiatives, validating proposed savings.
- Lead monthly performance reviews with the local management team, detailing results and explaining deviations.
- Assist the management team in understanding financial results and developing strategies to align with forecasted or budgeted levels.
- Prepare year-end reporting and statutory financial reports, ensuring timely audit and filing.
- Analyze project profitability and manage accounting systems within the operation, driving continuous improvements.
- Ensure effective credit control and communicate any risks to the relevant reporting lines, including the Group Credit Controller.
- Conduct financial analyses of capital projects and prepare necessary capital budgets for Group approval.
- Mentor and develop the US finance team.
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Partner with Sales and Operations leaders in the US to provide data and analysis for monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts.
- Monitor key strategic initiatives on a monthly basis.
- Prepare quarterly forecasts and lead the annual budget process, focusing on sales, costs, EBIT, working capital, and other key metrics.
- Other Responsibilities
- Liaise with tax authorities and external tax services, preparing tax reconciliations and supervising the preparation of the Corporation tax return.
- Prepare statistical ratios and provide support for ad hoc projects and requests.
- Stay informed of financial and economic changes, as well as current and impending tax legislation relevant to the company's operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Previous experience as a controller in a medium-sized commercial business or as a senior finance professional in a large commercial business.
- Professional finance qualification (CMA or CPA preferred).
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 systems preferred.
- Familiarity with financial consolidation tools (e.g., OneStream, SAP BPC, Hyperion).
