Electrical Procurement Manager - Renewable Energy

McCarthy's Renewables Business Unit is looking for an Electrical Procurement Manager to be based out of the Phoenix office. This is a great opportunity to support some of the largest and most unique solar and electrical projects in the country with an excellent opportunity for future growth within the McCarthy organization.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Procurement
Manage and guide a Procurement team that performs market research, explores future technologies benchmarking, and establishes key vendor relationships to strengthen McCarthy's ability to stay ahead of the market and to respond and adapt as needed.Identify new vendors/suppliers and assist them with obtaining Prequalification status in accordance with McCarthy's technical prequalification process.Identify and explore new market technologies, evaluate applicability, and assist in vetting products in conjunction with McCarthy's Quality Team.Build and maintain key relationships with Operations and Estimating teams and collaborate with them to maintain relationships with vendors/suppliers at various levels to achieve and maintain favorable commercial terms, pricing, lead times as well as identifying risk items and developing mitigation plans to address such risk.Assist Operations partners with resolving logistics, installation and construction quality issues with our vendors/suppliers.Understand key suppliers' organizational structure, financial health, negotiated Terms and Conditions, deal structure, exposure/risk, culture, and service capabilities.Provide support to Business Development efforts as necessary to maintain relationships with existing client base and support with questions about different suppliers.Attend industry events and represent McCarthy in a professional capacity.Identify and implement efficient strategies in McCarthy's current procurement process while focusing on risk mitigation.Supervise and/or facilitate the solicitation and technical scope contracting with major suppliers for major electrical equipment.Manage the procurement process and coordinate and provide pricing to Electrical Estimators during the Pursuit and Preconstruction phases of the project life cycle.With the support of the Procurement team, ensure proper direction, coordination, communication and sharing of documents to vendors/suppliers is well organized.Lead the margin plan opportunities discussions and identify financial strategies to minimize risk and enhance opportunity during each project.Supervise or facilitate the discussion around selection, award and contracting with vendors/suppliers for major electrical equipment.Manage procurement efforts and assist in negotiating Purchase Orders for key Electrical equipment, with support of Preconstruction Director. i.e MV and DC Cables, Combiner Boxes, Wiring Harness, Generators, Transformers, and Switchgear.Manage the preparation of contractual exhibits for scope of work for Subcontracts and Purchase Orders.Individual will be responsible for ensuring Procurement team maintains the overall procurement schedule by tracking progress of team members and managing Procurement team goals.Utilize analytics to document Procurement process and identify opportunities for greater efficiency.Feedback and Follow up
Conduct site visits and inspections at the projects and at the vendor facility as necessary.Organize and maintain all bid information as well as historical pricing for future reference.Solicit feedback from suppliers/vendors on McCarthy's procurement process, identify areas for improvement and develop a plan for implementation.Solicit feedback from McCarthy Partners on supplier/vendor performance, provide feedback to supplier/vendor and McCarthy's Preconstruction team and develop/implement plan for future improvement.Management
Responsible for creating an integrated team experience by ensuring role clarity, proper communication, and facilitating a culture that fosters collaboration and innovation.Lead, mentor, and guide Procurement team members to ensure clear direction and career growth, ensure team members have resources and support as needed.Provide work direction and performance evaluations.Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal McCarthy clients.Responsible for budget oversight and scope of work alignment for major electrical equipment.Visit manufacturing facilities virtually or in person to check ongoing operations and/or onboard new vendors or technologiesQualifications
Requires BS degree in one of the following disciplines: Electrical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Civil Engineer, Nuclear Engineer, Chemical Engineer, Supply Chain Management or 7 years of prior relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.General knowledge of supply chain management and procurement, as well as construction principles and processes.Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.General knowledge of estimating delivery methods such as negotiated bids, hard bids, Design-Build and GMP processes.Strong math and analytical skills with a solid attention to detail mindset.Genuine interpersonal and communication skillset.Demonstrates behaviors consistent with McCarthy core values.Maintains a "value added" approach to Procurement.Enthusiastic ability to multi-task
